Ooze Flux or Power Conduit (super slow) in mono-green are your only real options that I can think of. Vorel might like it as repeatable removal since blue has better ways of removing counters. As a mythic this concerns me as they usually are cost efficient. What would the other lower rarities be for Monstrosity? XXG probably isn't too much of a concern in green but it is quite the mana commitment.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
He could work in a graft/evolve deck where +1/+1 counters matter, gaining abilities from the graft creatures as soon as you use his monstrosity ability.
The way it's worded in the rumor mill suggests thst removing the counters doesn't let you reuse the ability. Bounce and blink woukd work, but green doesn't get those effects (excepting a few artifacts). If the rumored card is correct, I personally find him quite underwhelming.

That sample is very clearly not the final version. The quoted version at the bottom of that post is most likely to be the final version, assuming Polukranos actually has those abilities.
I wonder how we'll get rid of the counters so we can use the ability again....
There's always Voyager Staff, an awesome little trinket that is underplayed in the color. Reuse ETBs, protect key creatures from wraths, for such a low cost too.
The Boros guy... I don't really think he's going very far in Commander unfortunately. He wants you to target him with pump (be it instant/sorcery or enchantment), and he wants you to make tokens. Those are two VERY different classes of spells. Obviously we have Young Pyromancer as a link between those things but otherwise I'm just not sure how you build that with synergy. On the plus side, putting an enchantment on him triggers the ability (as it is written now in the rumor mill) so you *could* hit a T4 angelic destiny and try to go to town... but for what? Who needs trample when you're flying? And where are your minions? So with voltron being pretty crap here we have maybe a token deck instead where your boys all get trample with a single pump or enchant or whatever on your general. I guess he'd be a fun little boros tokens deck... but we sort of already have that. So he becomes a cheaper Argus Kos or just a bad version of Jor Kadeen.
Some legends are just meant for standard, I guess. I'm sure we'll get a lot more if the bar is set as low as this.

Depending on how the wording on Mr. Boros works out, he could be pretty dang awesome with a few storm cards. Cast Ground Rift or Grapeshot (he'll pump himself enough to survive grapeshot), target him with all the copies, and watch as your creatures grow crazy big with trample. Trample is the real winner here - very few ways to give tokens trample in RW.
Wojek Siren and all the Radiance cards get pretty darn awesome, too. I could definitely see him gaining popularity as a low-cost Boros token general. Heck, a 3-mana 3/2 with first strike, vigilance, and essentially trample could even gain traction as a voltron general.
As a connoisseur of fun, interesting matches, I still to this day have not been able to craft that "perfect deck"; the deck that I can play and have fun over time, doesn't get boring, but simultaneously is fun to play against. I honestly don't think it exists. It's like a unicorn. A ninja unicorn.
Overall, I am really excited for the green mechanic assuming it is accurate. I think that the legend himself is actually more interesting as a green creature in general than he is as a commander. I feel like the ability itself is really sort of horribly expensive however its a really cool effect.
I would be very happy to see several creatures / effects to give this ability in the set as green has really only recently opened itself to using fighting effects more but I feel like they are an amazing way to open green to play some control in general. The idea of a power buff that also serves as removal is really a two effect combination that couldn't be better for most of what green does.
I am a little bit horrified by the fact that he might be able to spread his damage as far as you want though. It makes deathtouch interesting for sure.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.

Actually that's an excellent point: Heroics works well with Radiance, and Radiance was an ability that didn't do so well last time it appeared. It's entirely possible that Radiance is the returning mechanic given this:

The second returning mechanic is a mechanic that the developers thought had potential but didn’t live up to it first time out - it has been mechanically retweaked and given a new name and flavor.

I wonder how that would work? Did Radiance actually have any decent impact? I mean it is actually pretty cute that it can hit a blue creature without hexproof to hit one that has hexproof like with Cleansing Beam while not having to nuke your own board.
Although the mechanic sorta makes sense theme wise for Theros. Like giving a blessing or a curse to a certain color based on what divine power hands it out.

The only gameplay I remember was seeing Brightflame on sideboards during Kami/RCoG/9th Standard and the occasional Rally the Righteous (which stopped seeing play altogether when Azorius came out).
Well, the spoiler says none of that B.S. about activating PK Hydra only once. It's a crazy expensive burn-wrath option. The damage it'll receive back seems risky even if you have Doubling Season in play. I'm not a fan.
I'm mostly surprised we're getting another Boros legend so soon. I guess that means Kiora will be in this block, too.

You don't HAVE to spread out the damage. You only need to do that if there are a bunch of 1/1 tokens. If you have the mana to make it kill a creature, it is unlikely that creature can kill the hydra. I think it is a pretty good ability if it weren't for the crazy mana cost (though it would be broken if it was too cheap).
If it is repeatable, that would be quite interesting. If so, I'd consider making a mono-green EDH with him as commander.
I think he would just be best in a Experimental Kraj deck, with all the various ways of removing counters. And giving Kraj the ability as well would be sweet. But i agree that he should be used as one of the 99 rather than as a general.
I'll certainly be interested in Polukranos for Yeva if what we've been told is correct, he looks very unassuming with a high murder potential. It's nice to see green getting some (more) wrath effects.
Well, the spoiler says none of that B.S. about activating PK Hydra only once.
The ability only goes off when PK Hydra becomes monstrous. Activating the ability states, that if PK Hydra is not monstrous, it gets X +1/+1 counters and becomes monstrous.
So it can only happen once, barring bounce or flicker effects to reset.
Ugh. That new Boros legend just seems sooooo off color I really, really wanted it to be "Becomes the target of a spell or ability you control" I hear Lightning Greaves woulda found a new best friend I mean, how isn't this fun?

That's probably why they didn't do that.
