Anyone thought to put up Gate to Phyrexia? I've seen this card before then was stumbling through a searcher and found it again and was like why am I not running this?
Was wondering if anyone had any experience using it? Seems like it would be good if your playing in a stax meta or if your playing in a goodstuff meta.

In Mono-Black it's about the best artifact kill out there. It's just really conditional, but if you can reliably get dudes (Reassembling Skelly, etc) it's solid. I played it in Geth and likes it.
I finally got an actual stax list together. I have played decks with a small amount of tax or staxish cards before but this is the first time I have gone balls-to-the-wall stax. link to my list if anyone cares to look/ comment
I've just started playing around with a Thraximundar near-creatureless stax list (4 creature cards in the 99). I threw in Phyrexian Metamorph, Sculpting Steel, and Copy Artifact to up the count on my relevant artifacts... I've actually found that most of the time most games, I want 4x Trading Post. With two Trading Posts in play, I can pay and sac a creature to return one of the posts to my hand, to turn it into something else, like a second Tangle Wire.
(Then when the Tangle Wire is about to fade away, I can turn it back into a Trading Post, or reset the Fade counters.)
The creatures I'm running are Dark Confidant, Trinket Mage, Phyrexian Metamorph, and Squee, Goblin Nabob. Metamorph rarely copies a creature, Trinket Mage doesn't need to stick around, and Squee gets discarded. That leaves just Bob and Thrax as the creates that I want to stick on the field for any length of time.

Was mulling through my favorites and noticed Genju of the Fields in there. Doesn't have evasion, and takes up a card slot but seems like a decent creature to help take people out during a lockdown.
I miss reading this thread, people start posting in it again!

Army Ants is essentially a nonhasted Strip Mine, but might be cool in decks that either abuse haste or have recursion strategies. Also it can be Skullclamped, which is a plus.
I know Overgrown Estate isn't a stax card, but it seems like an interesting to activate to offset some lifeloss stax decks can produce over the course of a game, or used in response to a land wipe to generate some life. It's pretty situtational, but it seems cool nonetheless.
I really like Destructive Flow, sure if your meta doesn't use developed manabases it can be slightly bad, but I like this as just a static nonbasic land hate, and might be worth considering if you are packing lots of nonbasic land hate already like Ruination, Blood Moon, etc.

I've thought about running Army Ants in my current build, but I decided on Fulminator Mage instead. I think it mostly comes down to how easily you can recur a creature or whether something like an enchantment or land would be better.
Also have been pushed to use Destructive Flow, but I don't think it would effect everyone equally and I would end up shooting myself in the foot. Max it hits you, me, and Ghave; while Rakdos and Jor go almost untouched.
Dust Bowl is a great alternative if your meta doesn't focus on land hate as much, but otherwise I would say it is more mana intensive than it needs to be.
Mist of Stagnation + DRS and Relic of progenitors or leyline of the void with fetchlands and vamp tutor / imperial seal any fast topdeck tutors has been sick in my stack deck online i like using helm void as decent finisher. tutor mana tutor this card with crack lands in yard if you have like any grave hate rofl then mesmeric orb after lock pretty funny too

Don't play this card ever...Mist of Stagnation will ruin the game forever. The first time I saw this card played; we had Trinisphere in play along with 2 active Salvaging Stations with Tormod's Crypt and a Relic.
Someone bombed it at the right time when tried to fill our yard to untap all our of permanents. No one was allowed to untap for 10 turns; the game went out for 3 hours.
That fact it's a blue enchantment is not fair. Blue + Enchantment = Really, Wizards?

This is beautiful. I'm making a spot for it in Oona control.
The game I lost to Stasis, the player dropped Stasis along with Garruk 1. Also Erayo and Arcane Lab, because if you're going to lock everyone out, do it and throw away the key.
Some of the interesting card interactions: Karakas with Hokori, Dust Drinker and Venser, Shaper Savant. Especially Hokori, that's just silly. He keeps everyone tapped down, while you get to untap everything.

It's generally a weak effect because it gives your opponents choices, and often missing a combat phase is something they'll do anyway.
Love it! Gonna have to get a copy of this.

Really like the list so far. Added some suggestions.
I actually want to build a Boros stax deck, but because dragon maze promises more options I'm waiting until I go all in.

That card reminds me of a lifelinking version of Forbidding Watchtower kinda.
Not sure if they have been talked about, but what does everyone think of cards like Army Ants, Overgrown Estate, and Destructive Flow?

It's such a pity stasis is hard to easily abuse. This will do though.
I agree. It's such a build around card that can easily backfire.
I love it's design though. I just don't think it's ever going to be that efficient in this format.

WUBRG Some of these decks can actually win games...WUBRG
How I know I should build a deck:
I play GWU stax. It's tuned for 1v1, but can still function in multiplayer. Some of the more interesting cards:
Awakening Zone
Stoic Angel
Yosei, the Morning Star
Seedborn Muse
Life from the Loam
World Queller
Some of the interesting card interactions:
Karakas with Hokori, Dust Drinker and Venser, Shaper Savant. Especially Hokori, that's just silly. He keeps everyone tapped down, while you get to untap everything.
Seedborn Muse with Mishra's Helix. More devastating in 1v1, but you get the idea.
