Magic - Mana Symbols Flip Box
Leatherette material with debossed Mana Symbols. Strong magnet for secure closure. Soft inner liner to prevent cards from being scratched.
From the look of things, the 5-symbol is still made the same way, but the color ones have a lesser construction. I'll work on getting pictures of my boxes.
Not 100% sure here, but you may actually be referring to the MAX - Ion Deck Armor - Deck Box that look very similar to the Ultra Pro boxes.
Pictures, as promised. I apologize for quality. You can see the mentioned stitching, but I couldn't get the outline of the magnet to appear any more clearly (photography isn't really my thing).
Hi guys, just wanna share a nice custom box I made for two of my decks.
made from the heat sink box of a computer processor box, (inside of the one above) this holds 100 single sleeved cards (plus a general on a top loader fits too!).
Possibly can't fit 100 cards on top loaders. This box has two holes on the top and bottom. Not sure if all kinds/manufacturers of cpu's would be the same.
I used Athlon X2 heat sink boxes.
*not the actual image, just tried to get some on the net since I already made it beforehand
Edited, printed and taped mtg pictures for a personalized look.
One day while wandering around in Staples, I made a great find: the Really Useful Box (TM). The largest size of this box is perfect for carrying Commander decks as it gives plenty of room for 100 cards and additional tokens/sideboard cards. Here is an array of images showing off several colors/styles of this box. Fully plastic, stackable, easy open/close (although not the most secure), and not much bigger than it needs to be. Remember, they are sold at Staples.

Neat find!
I probably won't pick up any myself as I already have too many deck boxes I mean the photo in the OP was an assortment of my junk and I've gained a few more since then. In fact I managed to get an extra Rebecca Guay deck box. Only problem with it is the velcro is retarded. Someone put two pieces of the same side of velcro on the deck box (the plastic mini-hooks side). So needless to say it doesn't really close... at all.:argh:
I've had these ultra pro sleeves for a long time now, nearly 6 years i think and i've only had minor bending of the corners and some little bits of dirt and such from where i play.
I haven't been able to find any of these sleeves though and i dont have any info on them except that they are ultra pro (gots the little sticker on the front) and the art they have. I have however, seen sleeves using the same art, except with a thick green border and a removal of the guy with a sword.
So I've been looking for the Ultra Pro's version of an ION Box as mentioned initially by viperesque and I can't seem to find it anywhere...all the stores seem to either not stock it, or the deck box is currently out of stock..

I use the ultra pro leather boxes for my three decks that I physical own cards for(rest are online). Sorry for the crappy pic.

Maybe this would be the best place to ask, but I'm on a quest!
For the perfect EDH deck box of course some new guy came into our LGS the other day with the coolest deckboxes. I didn't get a chance to ask him what they were he has a silver one and a black one. They really closely resembled the box an Event Deck comes in, but it wasn't cardboard. It was a leather type material and had a magnet to hold it close. And it has 2 compartments for 50 sleeved cards. Does anyone have any idea where he got it? Or what it's called?
Also those deckboxes with the window on the front for the general, does it have enough space for a sleeved general?
Sounds like the Ion Deck Boxes in the first thread or the UltraPro version. The only difference it sounds like is the splitter, which if its for Commander, I don't see wanting anyway.

Does anybody know where I can find a simple solid deck box other than the black ultra pro one on the OP? So something that looks like this, but holds 100 cards.
It makes me sad I have been trying to get ahold of a dragon egg deck box for a little over six months and they have been sold out. Every once in a while I will find a used one one eBay but that's it. I wonder if they have stopped making them.
Darn you, I've been meaning to put these up since I saw someone with them!
Anyways, window up front for the commander, small dice storage area, and fits 100 sleeved cards. Overall decent, but at $10 a pop, I have a few many EDH decks for that pricing.
Just thought I'd note my recent experiences here - partly for others' sakes, perhaps, and partly for my sake, on the off-chance that someone has some helpful advice.
After reading so much about how Dragon Shields offer the best protection, are the longest lasting, and so forth, I ordered myself up a set of those and a set of KMC perfect fits to go inside them. While I felt that my cards were exceptionally well-protected, the combination of the thickness resulting from double-sleeving and the apparently inherent slickness of the Dragon Shields led to a deck stack so tall and slippery that even drawing a card off the top risked tipping it over, and tutoring for a card was utterly disastrous. My hope is that with time and exposure the Dragon Shields' slipperiness will wear off and get replaced with a bit of natural stickiness. Time will tell.
I would have to order two of the ultra pro, of course. Which is fine because it's basically the same price. But my main concern is scratches. I'm really ocd about the look of my sleeves, so for those who's had experience with one of these, which is the more durable brand?

I haven't yet had a KMC fail me. Shuffling an EDH deck in Ultra Pros resulted in some split sleeves after a few games, but I tend to shuffle in a manner that's harder on the edges of the sleeve (I never riffle for the same reason I never snap my credit card before use). Some of the UPs have a finish that's more resistant to scratching, but if you're using a playmat and think you can afford to side with KMC's glossier (easier to see scratches on) finish, then I think the added durability is worth it.
As a general note, Dragon Shields are the most indestructible things I have ever held. Seriously. I've had acrylic deck boxes break on me before but none of my Shields have ever broken, and they're on decks that get shuffled every turn of every game (1000+ shuffles total for a single set of Shields).
Does anybody know if the 150-count Ultra-Pro acrylic boxes hold a double-sleeved deck? I know the ION and UP-brand IONs are just barely too small for such a deck.

Epochalyptik from http://tappedout.net/ EDH isn't about what you play, it's about who you play with.
I really like the handmade wooden box from etsy. My wife got me two for our anniversary and they are great. The guy even went out of his way to find a Cthulu pic he could burn into it.
Jace SHOULD be unbanned in modern. I hate all the people saying "JACE IS BROKEN OHMYGOD HE'LL TAKE OVER AND CAWBLADE WILL REIGN SUPREME AGAIN" when bloodbraid elf literally comes down after jace and kicks jace right in the crotch, takes jace's lunch money, and jace is left to bleed out on the sidewalk in agonizing pain.
That is my first try at making a box of any kind. I do have a little experience with woodworking though. Me and a friend might try to make and sell a few of them. He's really good at making things. The plan is to see what is out there and make ours way better and cooler looking. I did find a couple etsy folks that make wooden deck boxes:
I'm sad they had the same window idea as me, but I don't think there's glass in that design, which is what I think I may do. also, I'm going to age my with a special wood staining/heating process I have and stress the wood as well as a few other tricks that will make it look awesome. pretty much everything out there is something an 8-13 year old would like. I want to make stuff that a 20+ year old will like.
All these deck manufacturers need to level up their game. Most of them don't make deck boxes that fit 100 card decks that are double sleeved. It's such a bummer.
I'll need to dig up an old box or make a new one. This article makes for a top-loader box when you can instead make it a flip-open like the deckbuilders toolkit.
I have 15 decks, so I use fat pack boxes with top loaders to divide it and hold it up.

I have 15 EDH decks...sorta kills the 'I only need one of a card' aspect of the format.
I went and started a Commander/EDH blog! Come see it at http://wordofcommander.blogspot.com/ and it includes all 15 of my custom super-art generals!
If you're more into the finance section of the game, I write on Fridays for MTGPrice.com.

It's perfect for 2x 60-card decks but I'd say it's a bit roomy for an EDH deck unless you have tokens etc.
