Uh, what exactly is the difference between an EDH playmat and a non-EDH playmat? Seems kind of arbitrary.
the difference is I'd rather keep this thread in the edh forum where hundreds of people are at any one time as opposed to being moved to the barren wastes of the artwork forum.
Plus im interested to see any custom mats that are specific to a certain general or deck-type that people might have to show. I've seen a custom arcum mat that looked awesome.
I've posted this to the forums before (and gotten a lot of positive comments), but this is one of the two playmats I use:
Skittles, the Bright Dragon (Taste the Infection)
My other playmat is less creative; it's just a collection of several generals that I run with circular crossfades blending them all together. It looks nice, but it's not a conversation starter.
I used to have 7350x4350 images of both mats (the files I sent to InkedPlaymats), but after getting my mats I had no real used for the images and I deleted them. The Skittles mat I preserved with a smaller image posted to my blog, but unless InkedPlaymats still has a copy of my PSD, the above image is all that's left.

This is pretty awesome. Like a Rainbow in the Dark?
Is that really Skithiryx in Phyrexian to the left (or is it just scratch)? Did you make this yourself?

I'd love to make my own play mat (essentially, I'd take a mtg art, but add stuff to the side to count lives and for a play to put library, but I have no idea how to make one, did you use photoshop?

While the leather sections on the left are nice, you could really append them to just about any other piece of MTG artwork.
As for me, I just use regular old WotC-issued mats (generally a Game Day one, but sometimes a Premier one). Nothing fancy.
That writing on the left looks a lot like Ogham to me. At least it looks inspired by it.
I don't own a playmat, but my favorite playmat I've seen is the living wall done by Tom Gartin, who has also made a pretty nice Memory Jar playmat and a Mimeoplasm playmat (Which is on his Etsy).
I was just surfing the net and picked out three that I like.
I apologize for the size of this last one
My G Yisan, the Bard of Death G deck.
My BUGWR Hermit druid BUGWR deck.
GGG [Primer] Omnath, Big Green Beatstick Machine GGG

I care nothing about them...I just put them there to get the ball rolling.

Doing a reverse image search on it brought me to this page:

Edit: it also has a deviant art logo on it, so if you really want to track down the artist try there.

SWEET. I would totally buy a mat with that art. Thanks for that.
