So I've got a Lorthos, the Tidemaker deck that, as a deckbuilding challenge, runs zero counterspells. The deck works pretty well but, frustratingly, the one thing that it seems super vulnerable to is other people countering its spells, particularly the Tidemaker himself.
So, I'm looking for monoblue cards that can take the place of counterspells in general, but especially cards that can provide a buffer against other people's counters.
Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir - Denies opponents instant speed answers while giving your creatures flash. Venser, shaper Savant - Extremely versatile answer to everything, also isn't exactly a counterspell so it gets around uncounterable spells without breaking your rules. Vendillion Clique - Pluck nasty spells from your opponents hands before they can play them.
...all work extremely well with Riptide Laboratory
Mindbreak Trap - Isn't a counterspell, see Venser Time Stop - Is probably the most powerful not-counterspell out there.
In the Eye of Chaos helps stops pretty much any way for blue to deal with you at instant speed. The enchantment technically counters so I don't know if that's ok with your theme.
Turnabout can play pretend that it's Silence. Tap down the control deck's lands, pass into the next step/phase (so that they can't simply float the mana), then cast your spell.

Drain Power is another way to get more mana for a turn.
The versatility is worth the higher cost though IMO. Tap down lands against control, tap down creatures against aggro, or use it to untap your own stuff.
Mana Maze stops the counter war, and mono colored decks from on color exploding.
Helspont beat me to Mana Maze, which we've seen do very interesting things in the League. In addition to no countering of your Blue spells, it keeps the mono-anything player from getting too crazy.

I am already running:
Defliection
Divert
Willbender
Spellskite
Neurok Stealthsuit
Rebound
Boseiju who shelters all
I would run Misdirection and Cavern of Souls if they weren't out of my price range.

Oh Rider, my heart will go on...

Nath of The Gilt-Leaf
Teysa, Orzhov Scion
Twincast, Mischievous Quanar, Sigil Tracer, and Uyo, Silent Prophet can all mess with an opponent's counterspells, too, by creating a copy (which will then counter their counter).
Two Score, Minus Two or: A Stargate Tail

Turnabout is an expensive answer. You have Mana Vapors and Mana Short.
Drain Power is another way to get more mana for a turn.
Also,Braids, Conjurer Adept, and Quicksilver Amulet cant be countered by traditional counterspells. Can be Trickbinded, but theres a limited number of those effects.

How has that been working out for you?
