this is for darien, king of kjeldor, and i prefer permanents

this is what i have

May have to go the artifact route as White is normally more about preventing damage to yourself instead of dealing it.

Stuffy Doll naming yourself would be weird but can work I suppose.

White has very few options. There's Witch Hunter and not much else permanent-wise that I can find. For artifacts, though, you have some good choices.

Clockwork Hydra
Acorn Catapult seems like a very strong choice, giving you 2 1/1 tokens per 1 damage
Barbed Wire and Copper Tablet are basically Bitterblossom with Darien out, except they nick your opponents a little.

For lands, there's also Grand Coliseum.

Acorn Catapult lets you double up on the token production.

Skull Catapult has an interesting interaction with Darien.

Ankh of Mishra is awesome and can really help you speed up your kills.

Barbed Wire is similar to Ankh.

Jinxed Idol is good for hurting yourself.

Aeolipile is alright.

Sword of Fire and Ice is always good, and you could use the draw and removal.

Mindstorm Crown is pretty good; you get a card or a token every turn.

Staff of Nin is amazing in Darien. On one of the Darien threads someone mentioned another interesting card which isn't a permanent but it works quite well, the instant Sivvi's Valor. Between the alternate ("I'm tapped out") casting cost and the instant speed, it can lead to a lot of soldiers with Darien out, and then a big swing on your turn.

You should go with land that, when you tapped it for mana, deals 1 damage to you. things Like Grand Coliseum, Ancient Tomb, City of Brass and Nomad Stadium

One of my favourites is Angel's Trumpet - it forces your opponents to attack (maybe even you!), and it effectively doubles your army every turn.

Also, Dingus Staff and Skullclamp combo nicely.

Also, Dingus Staff + Ashnod's Altar + any of the Soul Warden creatures = infinite Soldiers and mana for White Sun's Zenith or Martial Coup
Any free sac outlet can be great, really - Phyrexian Altar for infinite white mana, Altar of Dementia for infinite mill, etc. etc.

Blood of the Martyr seems fun.

Scepter of Empires small but handy

The mirrodin talisman cycle are pretty decent and could count as mana ramp.

I wouldn't do the Kormus Bell + Norn wipe for various reasons, but Karma is definitely a consideration now. It will be hard for me to run Urborg in my mono-white though. I don't think the King of Kjeldor would approve. :rolleyes::D

The more I think on Karma the more I want it in. That could end games by itself without even getting Soldiers into the red zone, and it also would be a removal magnet, allowing other backbreaking enchantments like Crackdown or Cathar's Crusade to stick.

The Lyre is cool. Plop it down and watch opponents squirm. The first mode could be very deadly, as Darien can really crank out Soldiers when he sticks around. Sun Titan likes it too.

Darien is usually super fun. When else do you get to run jank like Catapult Master, and it's actually decent?! I run Jihad as well.

I just wish wish wish that there was a Soldier tutor. That tribe is dying for a little boost.

doesnt work as im in a monocolor so talismans are forbidden

I thought I'd post my mono-white Darien deck for you to peruse. It's built on this self-damaging principle, and has been the most successful mono-colored deck in our large meta.

The punishing lands and the Creature ETB = Lifegain clerics really complete the trickery. Jade Monolith is a house, as well! Good luck!

Lich's Tomb makes you impossible to kill with Darien out with the added caveat of being easily tutorable in mono white.

Lich's Tomb sucks though. It offers zero advantages until you get to 0 life, and it comes with plenty of disadvantages along the way. For starters, you won't always have Darien out and he's not hard to get rid of. Remove Darien, attack; you maybe just lost your whole board.

I run Mindstorm Crown and Jinxed Idol in addition to the cards you mentioned OP. My Darien deck isn't very good though, I basically threw in whatever I had in my binder beyond the self-damaging cards. I like Storm Herd because it can just end games and people don't usually see you as a threat early on. I dont run Urborg + Karma for flavor reasons, even though I run City of Brass, which you could say is out of place. Dunno, Urborg just feels weird in monowhite soldiers, a lot more out of place than City. I strongly identify it with Black is all.

I mean, the thread is about a monowhite deck killing itself. There is enough suck going on already that janky interactions pretty much go with the territory.
