Yo! I'm beyond bored with these ban threads and topics about which EDH strategies are better.
My question is this: What are your Top 5 Favorite EDH Cards? They can be anything, from Lands to Generals, and anything in between. I know it's hard to narrow down, but throw out a 5!
I'll start (off the top of my head, and in no particular order)
This isn't really accurate, I'm kind of put on the spot here. There are super tech cards that I love that I can't think of. Doran is correct though, he's my favorite legendary creatures. He's an example of how creative MTG cards can be.
*Edit. Counterspell is another card I love. I appreciate simple cost, simple effect spells.
*Edit edit. Just gradually replacing things as I think of cards I like more.
Kaalia, Drana, and Yeva are three of my favorites. My new and freaking mint Plateau is another favorite, since it's probably one of the most valuable cards I've ever owned. And I'm gonna cheat by saying all three Liliana's occupy the same spot as a favorite card.
1. Ashling, The Pilgram is my favorite card in MTG. I love her ability, I love her art, I love her story. Making her, and Mono red in general for that matter, competitive in my playgroup has been a challenge. I was teased and called dumb for sticking with mono-red, and now she's rightfully feared and respected in my group.
2. Sun Titan I remember when I pulled my Sun Titan because I had been looking for one for ages and kept ripping packs of M12. Eventually, I bought a pack and said "This is going to have my Sun Titan," and there he was. Ever since then, he's been one of my favorite combo pieces.
3. Counterlash was introduced to my playgroup by me. No one else had been running it until my Jenara deck frequently cast it 2-3 times a game into big things. No matter how bad the outcome of the end result is for me, I can't help but laugh whenever counterlash happens.
4. Not of This World still catches people off guard whenever I play it. It's primarily used in Ashling to keep her or my mana doublers on the board. For awhile, it was bouncing in and out of the deck at the advice of my friends until it won me a game against Azami. Since then, it has never left the deck and proven itself useful again and again.
5. Chandra and Jaya are tied here. Chandra easily my favorite planeswalker. Like Ashling, I love her story and I always try to fit at least one of her into my decks with red. However, I am a red mage at heart, and Jaya Ballard is the red mage of Magic the Gathering, even if my beloved Chandra is the poster child.
@Weebo, I really need to play with Holistic Wisdom. It being instant speed is so nice, and it plays well with Rings of Brighthearth. Speaking of, that would make a list of mine as well. Love that card.

He's just so cute and cuddly with his little red eyes. At least until he rips your face off.
I can definitely second Holistic Wisdom, that card is a beast. I hear casting Recurring Insight every turn is good plus it turns all your counterspells into Forbids.
