With the upcoming release of Return to Ravnica, and—more specifically—the new Izzet cards, I thought a Grixis deck focusing on instants and sorceries would be fun. I'm running into a couple problems, though:
A) Are there any wincons strong enough to eliminate multiple opponents (without having to rely on my opponents a la Insurrection)?
C) Should I include infinite combos? Obviously this deck is meant to casual, but who doesn't like winning?
Although I want this deck to be spell-heavy, feel free to throw in some support permanents (like Arcane Melee), even the obvious ones just so I don't overlook anything important.
unless he intends to use blacks gy recursion to get them back but if you didnt want to dedicate slots to it sedris would work
id go with thrax just ot hav a win condidtion available because some times spell heavy decks have a hard time ending the game because their win condidtions arent as good or repeatable unless youre going to combo
in those colors creatureless id go with mana geyser + reiterate for mana then exsanguinate for the kill but im sure there are a lot of options im not thinking of

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.“
I'd check out bobthefunny's Tibor and Lumia list as a starting point. Using River Kelpie, Secrets of the Dead, and Burning Vengeance (along with the newly spoiled Guttersnipe) for advantage engines... Adding black to that build would enable even more graveyard play, gainging Yawg's Will in addition to Past in Flames, and being able to run Raven's Crime. I think Sedris goes against the idea of the deck, he needs too many creatures. It's true that he synergizes well with some of the creatures this deck would use, but I think it would be better to have a general that functions as a finisher, like Thrax or even Nicol Bolas.
Warstorm Surge if you're playing creature-heavy, though it actually sounds like you're not.
If you go Sedris, that begs for creatures, not instants/sorceries. If you go this route, put in Void Maw and a sac outlet (personal favorite is Thermopod so you can keep going) to break unearth's drawback.
If you really want instants/sorceries, you might stay Izzet and get a general like Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind.
If you want to keep black for the tutors, I'd even suggest Lord of Tresserhorn. He gives you an added win-con, is cheap, and gives you the colors you want.
But if you want to leave Grixis and put Green in there instead of Black, Riku of Two Reflections is great for an instant/sorcery heavy deck.

I play this deck and it's incredibly fun and quite capable of wins via beatdown or storm. Guttersnipe is just.... I... IT'S BEAUTIFUL.
Past in Flames is maybe the best card in the deck. If I had black, just another copy of that in Yawgmoth's Will would be just bananas.
I vote Bolas for your general. If the spell route doesn't work out, he beats for somethin fierce. You get style points for using Bolas. And you get flavor in there too because you can consider Bolas to be casting all the spells.
That feel when you give someone else an awesome idea and you automatically want to build it yourself.
Off topic but I hate it when I tell someone an Idea I had and the next week they show up with it in there deck makes me so mad.
If you ask for help thats one thing. I am always happy to help and if I or we come up with a great idea then it yours but letme keep my ideas.
I have this one guy in my play group how I don't tell my ideas to anymore because he jacks them every time.
Sorry OP I had to rant, but back to the topic at hand look at my deck list and Forks to replace counterspells and through in Epic Experiment sould be real good.

A) Are there any wincons strong enough to eliminate multiple opponents (without having to rely on my opponents a la Insurrection)?
B) Who should the General be: Gwendlyn Di Corci or Thraximundar to give it a built-in threat?
C) Should I include infinite combos? Obviously this deck is meant to casual, but who doesn't like winning?

I think Thrax is a more relevant and powerful commander.
Goblin Electromancer and High Tide would probably be bonkers in whatever deck you make. How about Yawgmoth's Will? Mystical Teachings? Radiate?
That way you can unearth your Archaeomancer, Anarchist, Mnemonic Wall, Snapcaster Mage, and etc.

If you want to use Epic Experiment then replace some fo the counter spells for fork and twin cast and the like.
