While I was reading this thread on Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker, Myr Retriever and Junk Driver were both suggested as interacting with Skullclamp, Shirei, and artifacts in general. Suddenly i got a little giddy inside. Myr Retriever and Junk Driver can both save a mana doubler, skullclamp, any of the other lovely lovely artifacts I'm running, or combine with each other and skullclamp to draw as many cards as my mana can be speant for. This was terribly exciting as mono red is hard up for recursion.
I usually attach it to a guy that has 1 toughness and then I draw two cards. Sometimes though I'll use it more than once on my turn. Beast!

Being truthful here, and no disrespect to a lot of people, but Skullclamp is seriously overrated in a lot of people's eyes, and they stick it into every single deck that uses no blue. I mean, I've seen people play with phat butt creatures that put skullclamp just because they have ONE yavimaya elder in the deck. I was so confused by that, I Austere commanded him out of spite. Well, and the giant bombs, but mostly the clamp.
It's a good card, just no-one knows how it works. For the love of equipments, you don't put skullclamp into EVERY deck, it's only useful in weenies, tokens, saccing, or heavy recursion of SMALL etb creatures decks.

Well it certainly excels in those decks, i think you can make the case that it can be used in any deck that has a fair amount of creatures. Think about it like this. For 2, you've ensured that if the creature dies, you get full card advantage. 1 for the creature, and 1 for skullclamp. Any other creature that it gets equipped to gets you extra cards per creature death. It's an insane card advantage machine.
I doubt this will actually be a card "discussion" thread. More like a card "appreciation" thread.

Pretty much this.
Although I will say that since I only dont run blue in my Ghost Council deck I have never really needed it until then. It works amazing with the already mentioned reassembling skeleton and friends.
Theres nothing quite like blinking your general and drawing 2 cards because of it.
Funny enough, my craziest shenanigans with Skullclamp is with Boggart Shenanigans, when I had a Wort deck up and running I'd just cycle trough the whole deck and machine-gun everything. It's especially good with Goblin Sharpshooter as well.
Small tribes benefit most from the clamp, like goblins, elves, and especially slivers.

Clamp kinda abuses itself, doesn't it?
I think the only thing that truly makes it more broken is the fact that it's yet another target for Stone Forge Mystic.

I absolutely love the "clamp"!
On to the broken-ness:
Clamp a fatty (I can hear the haters now...), drop an Infiltration Lens on it... then turn sideways. Damned either way
See, at that point why don't you just put a sword on the fatty, making it an actual threat?
I get people are loving the card, and I do too, but unless you have a good Sac outlet, uts lose the effect. Unless, I'm playing boros, I don't auto include the clamp. R/w, however, loves this card. Nothing like giving a false prophet the clamps, goblin bombardment, and draw two cards on their tears

I also run a Brion Stoutarm deck that loves Skullclamp considering it can tutor for it with Stoneforge Mystic, Stonehewer Giant, and Godo, Bandit Warlord and runs a ton of (probably too many) Threaten effects to combine with Brion's ability.
Now I know about Goblin Assault, Bitterlossom, and the new Awakening Zone. Obviously Ghave, Guru of Spores is a beast with it. But what I'm really looking for are obscure ways to abuse it.
So I ask you all, what fun shenanigans do you play with skullclamp? No color restrictions what so ever!
