Had a simple question. What do you as the community think is better? Mono Red or mono Blue artifact decks? Or is there a multicolored general I'm missing? I'm currently running Slobad, goblin tinkerer as my general but I have never had to cast him in any of the games I've played. I feel that blue may be stronger?
Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.
But still, red vs blue, blue wins. Sharuum is still a monster on the 3 Colored spot. Shout out to the under dog 3c artifact general, Mishra, Artificer Prodigy. Also, thada is another good blue artifact general, as is menmarch.
I am petitioning for the removal of mythic rarity. Sig this to join the cause!

Any mono-red list might as well be considered an artifact deck since that's the best way to fill utility holes in the color.
With that said, Blue and/or Sharuum definitely are the "best" ways to go, but if you're not playing high-tier cutthroat, mono-red artifacts isn't as gimped as people make it out to be.
Thanks every one. we don't play super cut throat but its still a challenge with one of our players. With the new commander decks coming out next week we will have at least 5-7 decks floating around so more people playing.
But thinking of switching it up to blue. I see they have a lot better stuff and search even!
Prolly going to use Memnarch but i now realize with Sharuum the Hegemon I can play with fun blink effects. I think my problem with Sharuum is that its an instant hate card. My group doesn't know the ins and outs of this format yet but the one guy does and he will tell every one to hate me out for that general.
Hate isn't to much of a problem if you pack some instant removal and tuck cards to punish opponents who screw with you. After a few games your playgroup will learn to avoid pain and Pognify, Oblation, Spin into Myth, Condemn, ect...

You don't have the proper clearance for this signature Citizen.
Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer is an interesting new card that has access to both Godo and white Equipment search. I've been thinking about building a deck with him but don't the right artifacts yet. I'm thinking it is going to focus on creatures with first strike and indestructible artifacts.
I actually run a Mishra, Artificer Prodigy artifact combo deck. The colors are great and it's always a great challenge trying to kill someone with general damage (I got to 20 once!). The black isn't great for artifacts but it gives you the best tutors to assemble your combos.
And I built a Jor Kadeen deck recently and I'm really happy with it. Red an.d White is a very strong color combination with lots of removal and super aggressive creatures. This is a general that can end the game the turn it comes out.
Esper Sharuum got hated out tonight. Time to find some other combination I think. They didn't like the 1st turn Disciple of the Vault. Don't know if I need more draw or not. I know there are some key cards I'm missing. Ill post the deck a little later.
Blue gie you access to (As Stated) Arcum Daggson. Lets add another Guy to that
MEMNARCH. One of the best generals in the game just due to being able to steal artifacts, and also, turn thing into artifact to be stolen.

Why would you play it on turn 1? I thought it was a universal rule of play all your combo pieces in the same turn or it will get removed/the whole table hates you out the following turn. Play good magic please.
I didn't see if anyone suggested Animar, Soul of Elements yet. I think it would make a great dedicated artifact deck, since it would make most of your artifact creatures free, or close to free.
how does mishra help if EDH decks are singltons? The spell you cast to activate the ability is the only one there is anyway...

Welcome to the wacky world of online forum posting. Just so you know, most forums frown on digging up topics that are more than a year outdated.
As for Mishra, you're absolutely right, but for some silly reason people like to make gimmicky decks around the fringe effects of his ability, like recurring shuffles, and in the fashion of yankee doodle call themselves creative for sticking the proverbial feather in their macaroni hats.
i choose to bump this thread which is on topic with what im research as opposed to making a new one.

I played Rasputin Dreamweaver as my general and it worked out pretty well, but Arcum Dagsson and friends are probably even more potent.
