One of the things that's really starting to bother me is the sheer level of passive-aggressive behavior present in EDH groups. Does anyone else here have this problem?
Examples:
1. Some sniveling idiot kept countering literally everything when I was playing my old Mayael, The Anima deck. When I asked why, he said "I usually lose to Mayael, nothing against you personally". And then we all lost to Azusa WHO I WAS TRYING TO KILL. And it was said with an infuriating smile.
2. People who can't get over one bad play I did last game and who swing for me first thing next game. Too many to list, and it's why I only play at one store nowadays.
3. This one moron who would start sulking and pouting the second I attacked him. Sorry Timmy, but your turn 1 Serra Ascendent means I am going to smack you.
4. That one guy who always whines that I'm not casual enough to play with him. He also runs - I kid you not -Craw Wurm unironically.
If someone is playing Craw Wurm and complaining about casualness really does deserve to get attacked. Do it enough and maybe he will start playing with real cards.
My store is casual but no one holds grudges like that, it seems to me that the people you play with need to grow up.
That's more like whining on your opponents part, not passive aggressiveness.
#1 you should come to expect when playing a very common and powerful general. You're not the first person to use Mayael, so there will be players with an axe to grind with her whether you pilot her or not.
If I see an Azami on the board I go for it... don't care if it was my Grandma playing her... that ho (Azami not my Grandma) is toast.
#2 is childish and I can't agree more. But that, there, is straight aggression... nothing passive about it.
Did you complain that your opponents attack you when they perceive you to be a threat, and then think it's dumb when one of your opponents complained because you attacked him when you perceived him to be a threat?

The who was countering me ran Oona, I don't remember his board position. It wasn't that big anyway.
The fourth player I don't remember. He basically sat around.
At this point, Mayeal had been countered once already, along with me being Wastelanded to remove my Taiga. So not only did I have little board position, I was pretty behind the curve. And then the Oona player Pongify-ed Mayael. So needless to say, I was utterly baffled.
Had this issue at the place I played at. No matter what deck I built, it was always too good and overpowered the entire table, even the ones that just turn guys sideways for the win. They would complain because I made too many tokens, or because I had too much direct damage or drew too many cards. So I stopped playing with them and found a group of players that were actually good, and now I can play pretty much anything and still have a good shot at a real game instead of instantly becoming the Archenemy.
EDH/Commander is a social format, right? So why don't people use their social skills to discuss what they like and don't like, instead of adopting a list with 60+ banned cards?

I dunno he might flash Natural Order it into Progenitus.
There are a couple people in my play group that attack people because of what they did last game but mostly everyone in my group is nice and on the same power lever.
Best to confront these type of people right away with a cold dose of reality. Straight up tell them that they are bad sports or making bad plays thus ruining it for other people and then stop playing with them. Maybe they will come around and change if not, don't play with them. They will hopefully realize taking advice and playing better will benefit them and others. If not then they get their kicks acting like a douche at the table and don't deserve anyone's time. Life is too short to deal with people like this more than once.

1 - Some generals just draw hate. But, that player also has ****ty threat assessment.
2 - Like, a play that was a mistake or a play that screwed them? If the latter, I'd do that too. If you screw me one game, I'll come after you the next. It's all in good fun though
3 - This is also threat assessment, in a sense. People should realize a 6/6 lifelinker on TURN ONE is a massive threat-drawing play.
4 - Casual vs Competitive is a mindset, not a certain type of deck. I've heard of people on this site playing Legacy decks for fun at a buddies' house, for eg. Sounds like dissonance between you two, don't play with him them.
Poor threat assessment is somewhat endemic to the format, especially among new players. This isn't an insult to their skills, but there needs a big shift in the mindset you have while playing 60 card duels, especially something like standard, and the mindset you need while playing multiplayer with (mostly) vintage legal cards. It sounds like a chunk of your problems could be coming from that. Given time, people should figure that out. I like to think that everyone playing this game is at least somewhat intelligent.
The rest of it mostly sounds like whining and differences in opinion as to how the format should be played. There's really no way around that other than gradual shifts in how people approach the format or not playing with those players.
I will admit to being guilty of problem #2 sometimes, though I'll let it go as soon as there's a reason to focus on someone else. It's as good a criterion as any for choosing who takes early attacks from little ramp dudes and such.

Lol, the thing I hate the most is when people rolls dice to see who they attack and what permanents they destroy. Poor threat assessment is just so common.
What I usually do is explain what's going on to people. "Oooh, Academy Ruins... You're not going to slaverlock me are you?" "Hey, Composite Golem! I love that dude! Are you running him with Nim Deathmantle?"
People take notice and assess threats better.
Also, make sure if someone is trying to kill you for apparently no reason, kill them first. It doesn't matter if Jack is pulling ahead. What matters is that Marcus called you out. No one else matters... unless they decide to take sides.
If people gang up on you and try to kill you every time you play... try playing political cards, because you certainly aren't being political person to person. Things like Propaganda, not things like Howling Mine.

Or stop playing with them. Seriously, they sound more petty and childish than passive aggressive. I wouldn't indulge it.
Perhaps explaining why you are doing what you're doing might help. Explaining threat assessment and how "guy X" is a bigger deal than "guy y."
Sounds like the majority of the EDH community (i'm not kidding). I keep discovering more and more how people are just terrible in some way shape or form at this game and will whine. More over, and let's be honest, the format is catering to these players. My advice is to simply build a few grief decks that violate the game state to unplayable levels. Trust me after a few games with eye of the storm, hivemind, and chaos grip... he'll be happy to play against uncasual decks. That will either cause them to change their behavior, leave, or retaliate towards you in a physical manner. The later isn't so bad because you'll not only be able to get that player banned from the group, but also press charges.
The more you complain the less time you have in life to play EDH, that's my motto.
I agree. We should all only play g/x decks because they are the most objectively fun and anyone who disagrees does not know the truth about EDH. Everyone should just play their decks because interaction beyond high fiving about how many land are in play is unfun and equivalent to casting Stasis while kicking puppies. I for one will never play with anyone who casts tutors, removal spells, blue cards, things I arbitrarily decide I don't like but will probably cast myself later.

That isn't the EDH community, it's the entire magic community.
#1: I can usually convince people to focus on the real threat although I have lost games to wrath spells used on my dudes that were attacking Mr. Combo player. #2: I usually hold grudges only against my friend that I play with only because it's basically turned into a game we play lol.
That isn't the EDH community, it's the entire magic community.
That is false, i've only played legacy magic, standard, and some vintage outside of EDH. So for me, EDH was my first exposure to the the inferior magic players.

Your evidence is anecdotal at best. The majority of magic players are terrible (just like the majority of any group). Also, legacy and vintage players are an extreme minority.
So yea, most players are generally bad at the game. Not to say that is a bad thing, but it is a fact.

What! The most obnoxious players are the standard crowed. And second place goes to the standard crowed that start playing legacy (cuz they are so hot). That it why i stopped playing standard and only play type 1.5 with people i am certain know how to play. Whining comes from inexperience and, i guess, genetics.
If you want a good game, explain to your group that what makes a good game is to be focused on it, and to not panick when they are loosing.

As to the OP--my group had an unofficial rule that no one wins two games in a row, so there is that.
Turn 1 Serra Ascendant should mean the whole table is coming after him, no?
I went and started a Commander/EDH blog! Come see it at http://wordofcommander.blogspot.com/ and it includes all 15 of my custom super-art generals!

No. Let me elaborate:
Azusa had IIRC, 10+ lands including Gaea's Cradle, Avenger and Prime Time out along with Horn of Greed.
I had 6 lands and Mayael.

This.
It's surprising what an early attack for just a couple of points can do when it's announced, "Take two for whining."
It's sort of a 'big-brother-picks-on-little-brother' thing but still valid.
