To be fair, though, he did specify creature removal spells. Of course, Beast Within does certainly fall into that category as well.
Shows how well I read. I'd add some useful info at this point but everything has been mentioned.

im suprised no one mentioned unmake ... it saved me from regenerating creatures and reanimator decks many times ... im happy i have the full art version
Some of my personal favorites are. Murderous Spoils, while a little high on the mana curve it can swing the game. I also like Nemesis Trap, exile + clone effect is amazing. Someone is always playing white too.
For removal on the cheap in Damia I run Go For the Throat, Tribute to Hunger, Consuming Vapors, and Ashes to Ashes. I also like Damnation and Decree of Pain for boardwipes, and Dark Imposter for repeatable removal.
So I have been unhappy with the targeted removal I have in my Nath deck and I have decided to cut Executioner's Capsule (used for it's interaction with Glissa the Traitor) - doing a search found me this old thread - sorry for the semi-Necro, but it seemed the most relevant.
What I was looking for was a Single Target removal spell that had some reusability - the answer is probably Sever the Bloodline, but it forced me to consider other options as in Nath I am running Cradle, Urborg, Coffers and ways to copy these lands, so I often have a surplus of ridiculous mana - so maybe Silence the Believers as it also exiles and can function as multiple use removal.

Opinions on the two? or versus? Or other options.
I was going to post about the necro until I read your post but this makes sense.
Profane Command is pretty good if you often have surplus mana. But its sorcery and not reusable.
Yes thank you, I absolutely love Cannibalize. It's a very cheep exile spell in black, something they don't get often, and with little to no draw back (other then needing them to have two creatures). However I do like that you choose the two target creatures during announcement, and then which gets the counters and which is exiled on resolution meaning they can't tell which is going away until it's too late. The flavor of it is also great which is always a plus if that's what you're into. In truth though any piece of removal that gives you more then just the base line for removal, either something like Sever the Bloodline or Consuming Vapors that gives you the option to do it again. something that gives you an added bonus like Phthisis, or something like Hero's Downfall or Putrefy that are more versatile and can hit more then one type of permanent. I know it's kind of basic but you really want to stay clear of things like Doom blade, not because they are not good but because they just don't offer you enough bang for your buck in this format. Also honestly I absolutely love Memory Plunder. It's not per say a removal spell but it's versatility can't be ignored seeing as you could remove a creature that had say protection from blue or black with your opponents Path to exile or use it to cast their own Wrath of God or even a Counterspell if that's what the situation calls for.
If you want to go big, aka mass removal, I'd go Decree of Pain and damnation (would also invest in Boseiju, Who Shelters All depending on how counter heavy you play group is as I assume in many situation you're like these to resolve)
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
This idea that spot removal is useless in multiplayer commander is a load. One overlooked spell is Spiteful Blow Get rid of a problematic land and creature.
I'm using Damia as my general so I should have relatively high card draw. Do you think Do or Die (being a one way semi-wrath) is any good?
It doesn't have to be limited to instants and sorceries. I just bought a Visara the Dreadful. It's just the kind of reusable creature removal I was looking for.
Don't use creature removal if you are running Damia. Just ramp to 7-10 mana then Tooth & Nail for Palinchron + Deadeye or the demon that tutors + Deadeye and keep fetching broken combo pieces to win. Use countermagic to protect your combo or Damia. Damia is super, super nasty, nice Commander choice there.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
Don't overlook Murderous Cut. Although it can't be easily cast during the early turns, it becomes a very cost-efficient way to take out a threat later in the game.
1. Go For the Throat: Just so good!
2. Ashes to Ashes: Exiles is clutch
3. Rend Flesh/Eyeblight's Ending: Depending on your meta, destroys just about anything.
Everyone already mentioned the amazing mass removal black has to offer.
