This card seems rather amazing - for TWO mana, you hose over everyone's draw engines. There are definitely some Consecrated Sphinx shenanigans in my meta. Also combining this card with Teferi's Puzzle Box and Wheel of Fortune seems rather hilarious!
However! I've got a Karador, Ghost Chieftain deck in my meta that might thank me for helping him fill his graveyard, among all the potential other yard abuse guys.
What's the general opinion of this card? Is it good? Do the benefits outweigh the potential drawbacks of potentially helping someone fill their grave?
I don't know if I'd call Chains + Puzzle Box hilarious, unless "nobody gets to have a hand anymore" is someone's idea of fun. Wheel of Fortune at least is only a one-shot hand destroyer, and does let you build up again through just your normal draw step.
The biggest thing I found, was finding how to work around it. Necropotence works around it. Remember it shuts down the draw of Sensei's Divining Top, I recomend using Crystal Ball instead.

Well, part of my idea is that after I throw down a Manabarbs, Ankh of Mishra etc., that my opponents should have a hard time getting rid of it. So... it works toward that angle. :-D Stranglehold is going in for the same reason.
I have been trying to put my Tetsuo deck back together. But it used Chains + Umbilicus + 0 cost artifacts like the baubles and crypt to basically force everyone off the board after a wheel or a puzzle box.
Try to get a Library of Leng out early. I was in blue so I could target it with Trinket Mage to help out. Have to be careful of the Puzzle Box because it will hamper even your ability to hold onto something.
In my experience with playing with it. Make sure you are set up for it, so you can end the game quickly, or you just end up with an annoyed table, and possibly a 5 hour long game if someone kills one of your ways of working around it.
I enjoy Chains in my bein a butthole suite of Kaervek
Thumbz up

if you see me playing edh on modo I am always running badcards.dec http://offcolorcast.com For people that wanted a second EDH podcast to listen to each week.
Competatively it is worth it. It basically makes it so your oponents only get to play the first card they draw each turn and only if it can be casted at instant speed. You can get this combo out turn 4 decently and if you want to play fast with Elvish Spirit Guild and Lotus Petal you can get it out turn among other cards you can potentially get it out turn 1-2. With friends I might take it out occationally since it is something that can kind of get old since most decks don't have a whole lot of responces once it is out.
However! I've got a Karador, Ghost Chieftain deck in my meta that might thank me for helping him fill his graveyard, among all the potential other yard abuse guys.
I run Chains in my Karador deck for obvious reason, though I've considered it for quite a few others. Basically every black deck that abuses the graveyard can put it to good use.
I'd definitely try this card out in a lot of places if it weren't for that price tag. There's a lot of other expensive cards I already want more than this since I know I can use them in decks and they're still cheaper lol.
That said, I think this card is absurdly strong for its mana cost.
I'm brewing up a Kaervek the Merciless group slug/jerkface deck, and one of the cards I came across was Chains of Mephistopheles.
