So, I'm thinking about switching out Restock for Creeping Renaissance in my Kamahl, Fist of Krosa deck. The reasoning behind it being that, I run a lot of creatures and I figured that CR would be a decent source of wrath recovery. I also like the flashback so I can cast multiple Genesis Waves also. But Restock can grab me two permanent/spell types in one shot.
I didn't mention Praetor's Counsel because it has always been absolute overkill/win more every time I've ever seen it used.
Oh shoot. You're right. I thought it was card type. Good point. Strike 1 for CR. The reason I don't add both is I'm trying to keep the permanent count high for G-wave.
I almost posted a SCD thread for Creeping Renaissance. curious to know if anyone uses it, myself.
If you want my opinion, i'd say Restock is better, despite not having flashback, because you can snag ANY card (not limited to just permanents), and both these cards cmc are pretty expensive anyways, so i'm not sure i would ever see myself flashing back the renaissance.

CR gets better the more permanent based effects you have. Since you say you're running high on permanents due to G-wave, you probably have a lot of utility such as artifact/enchantment kill and ramp in the form of permanents.
In this case CR effectively returns your "spells" as well as your creatures. If you're running instant/sorcery based effects though Restock is probably better.
I like CR more than Restock for most decks. You have less control over what you get back but you can get back more cards, it has flashback which is really useful against mass discard (and useful for casting it twice) and it doesn't exile itself the first time so you can get it back with other Regrowth effects and loop it with Eternal Witness if you have a sac outlet.
EDIT: CR also doesn't target which is rarely relevant but still something to consider.
