Only other Gen wave thread I found on google was for Standard.
So, personally, I can't pull myself to make a green deck without this beautiful Genesis Wave. It's always great. and even if I hit like, 9 lands, pffffbfbbfff I just got 9 lands!! Maybe I'm just super silly about how I play, but I don't think I've ever been unhappy with the results of a wave.
What is your opinion on this card?
edit: Also I am making a RBGKresh deck, and it was the first card I picked out. Good idea or no?

I have an elf tribal deck that can generate silly amounts of mana and Gen Wave is one of my favorite things to cast with it. Most of this is because I run a majority of creatures and other permanents, so I don't often miss with it.
That being said, I have seen it cast and whiff miserably, which is really annoying if it ends up binning a lot of good spells, since in green it's somewhat difficult to get back stuff from the yard.
I believe that there was a thread on it a while ago. Basically, it mostly boils down to how much of X you usually pay for and how many permanents do you actually run in the deck.
In my Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger deck, it hits really big numbers, and I end up gaining similar amounts of mana as to what I put into it. I only run like 12 or 13 non-permanent cards, so that part isn't really an issue either.
I'd go as far to say that if you don't run Genesis Wave in your green deck, it's not really an EDH deck.

Awesome luck helps but is not strictly necessary
Oh man you're good at digging up threads, props o.o
I run it in Riku, and it adores it to no end. Go ahead and ramp for ridiculous mana, then cheat 40 things into play with one spell. Almost any green deck benefits from it. Even if you can only make X a small number, it can still be good.
I played in a bunch of multi-player games with it. It resulted in groans (from them) and giggles (from me) every time. There's nothing that it can't do. Run Boseiju, Who Shelters All, just to be certain.
If you're playing green, there is a really really good chance you can produce big mana to make this a near game-ender. But even if you don't have crazy amounts of mana, G-wave is still probably the best green card for EDH.
if you play in one of those groups where you can consistently get to the point in a game where you can cast a 12 mana spell and no one has a response, then go for it.

tl;dr Good card is good.
I would have to disagree. My Azusa deck never ran it because the game would have over for me or my opponents at the time I drew it.
I'd rather just combo out with Tooth and Nail for 9 mana. It's way more consistent. Gen Wave has much more specifics which need to be built into it. It can do cool stuff. But too inconsistent for my liking.

Redundancy is key in singleton formats. Sure, tooth and nail is better, since it is an instant win card most of the time, but that doesn't stop genesis wave from also being a very good card. It belongs in any green deck that runs ramp spells (read: all of them.)
I believe that I have enough social competence to slip into a party or two, potentially wooing some attractive females that would not mind spending the evening performing the booty dance on me.
In my jenara, asura of war deck, I feel like I do not need genesis wave (or for that matter tooth and nail.) I run mostly cheap utility creatures and lots of instants. If I have 10-15 mana, I generally just cast Time Stretch and win. Or pump Jenara to lethal and swing, or start casting Capsize several times per turn to make my opponents unable to win or Consecrated Sphinx with counter backup

For reals. Genesis Wave and Tooth and Nail are just passe. Crushing people with Time Stretch or Consecrated Sphinx or Mindslaver lock is the gentleman's only way to win.
It's stupid and annoying but i prefer you play it than Tooth and Nail. Countering a huge wave is orgasmic, so by all means run it, just more mana for me to blow away.
Roll a wave and hope for the best, I hit Memorial and Tokens...i hit 7 lands a spell oh no... yawn ... it's worse than a choas deck, at least people who play Obliteratetry to suspend things or have planeswalkers in play (in my experience). But games need to come to an end so if you can make enough mana unchecked to win off wave you probally deserve too.
Given up magic because a)its a waste of money b)it sucks the joy out of life c)im doing more interesting things than tapping pieces of plastic that have no intrinsic value.
I encourage you to do the same. Instead of FNM try Friday Night Something Spontaneous. Instead of thousands of hours and dollars on plastic imagine it with a significant other or friends sharing something meaningful. I randomly typed a new password, so bon voyage itches i encourage you to follow suit! Cheers

You must play nice.
This. It's not competitive vs. fast combo decks, but everywhere else it's exceptionally bomby. If you generate huge, just huge amounts of mana, it can easily be better than an Eldrazi Titan. Sure, at X=7 I'd rather have a Kozilek, but if we're talking Emrakul type mana, it's pretty much the best possible thing you can play.

My point is that I reached a critical mass of cumbersome spells in that deck and the cumbersome spells I do run are all better at least for that deck.
edit: but yeah, if I ever made a mono-green deck, without access to bonkers stuff like time stretch, I probably would have to run Genesis Wave I was just aiming to demonstrate that it does NOT belong in every deck running some forests.
I personally feel this card is broken and should be banned with that being said if you have a green deck you should probably run it.
It's a fine card, but it doesn't reside in the same realm as the word "broken".
As others have said, you have to kind of build around it to some degree, which is pretty easy to do in mono green. A good, solid bomb, and if it wins the game, well, frankly if you're paying 10+ mana for a spell, it probably should win the game.

Most people will just choose to put the Regal Force into the graveyard instead of into the battlefield though but if it is for the lawls, sure
