since the two new sets flashback and playing cards from the grave yard has made a bigger comeback. Im looking at you Snapcaster mage.
Can this narrow card be useful?

EDH decks in cockatrice, look me up under hoborobot
While there are a lot of cool cards that have been printed with flashback and enablers such as Snapcaster Mage there isn't space in most EDH decks to plan for a tiny subset of all shenanigans that a deck might abuse.

The card is incredibly conditional, as it is very rare when a spell actually gets played from a graveyard. Aside from Snapcaster Mage, Retrace, Karador, and random flashback spells, Recoup, Yawgmoth's Will, Horde of Notions's ability are the only other things I can think of that would set off Laquatus's Disdain.
The other big strike against it is that you can't even do something like cycle away the card if it doesn't get used the vast majority of the time. If nobody actually costs a card from their graveyard, it sits in your hand as a blank.
Grip of Amnesia is a better counterspell in this regards, sort of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" deal. Also it has broader applications so it won't sit in your hand doing nothing. Worst case scenario it's a blue Bojuka Bog that cantrips, which is still pretty good.
If your meta has a lot of decks with stuff being cast from the graveyard, consider Shaman's Trance. It obviously works with flashback, but don't forget about retrace and others.

lol wut? I have never seen Shaman's Trance. Seems strong in a three or five color deck.
EDIT: Does it work the way I think that it does? You can just play cards from your opponents' graveyards?

You can only play the cards if they would somehow be legal to play.
If a spell in a graveyard has flashback, you can cast it. If a card in a graveyard specifically lets you play it from the graveyard (such as Haakon, Stromgald Scourge), you may play it. If you have Haakon in play, you may play Knights from your opponents' graveyards.
If it's your turn during the main phase and you have Crucible of Worlds in play, you may play a land from an opponent's graveyard, if you haven't already played all the lands you could this turn.
As far as I can tell, Chandra Ablaze's ultimate should let you cast Red instants/sorceries from your opponents' graveyards.
Past in Flames only grants the cards in your own graveyard flashback, so you won't be able to use Trance to cast cards from your opponents' graveyards with this.
You can not activate a Reassembling Skeleton or creatures with Unearth. Nor can you activate something like Magma Phoenix. Your opponents will still be able to use these abilities.
I thought that seemed too good to be really how it worked. Still an interesting card, if narrow.

I thought you could though because trance says "as if they were in your graveyard.", but I could be mistaken.

Bad. Mental Misstep would be a better choice, that speaks to how narrow Disdain is.

Given up magic because a)its a waste of money b)it sucks the joy out of life c)im doing more interesting things than tapping pieces of plastic that have no intrinsic value.
I encourage you to do the same. Instead of FNM try Friday Night Something Spontaneous. Instead of thousands of hours and dollars on plastic imagine it with a significant other or friends sharing something meaningful. I randomly typed a new password, so bon voyage itches i encourage you to follow suit! Cheers

Note: aim remand at the spell that's being flashed back. If it leaves the stack, it gets exiled instead.
Side note: Remand cost HOW much now?
