Sadly I just dont see them as ever being worthy of inclusion. It isnt like Trinket Mage puts them right into play. If Tezzeret can slow roll artifact lands into play over time then your meta might want to work on their planeswalker hate. Generally the benefits of the artifact land are heavily outweighed by things like Austere Command. If you are actually drawing those artifact lands and someone blows them out it is a heavy loss. In my opinion they just aren't worth running.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
Play the deck, either with or without them. If there's ever a time when you either grab them with Tezz or Mage, or wish you could grab them, then they're worth it. I've been playing Tezz and Mage in decks for years without ever once doing that, so the upside isn't worth the increased risks of running them over basics in my opinion. You've almost always got a better target for most of the effects that can grab artifact lands.
The deck where I probably would run them is in a deck that included Darksteel Forge, Soulscour, things that care about artifact counts, or something else along those lines, where they're either helping break symmetry on a card or have their downside considerably reduced.

I am kind of amazed at [...] the fact that somebody on this thread called Mind's Eye, Mirari's Wake, Decree of Pain, Desertion, AND Scroll Rack, all before they were officially spoiled. I will edit this post VERY shortly with the username of this user who deserves at least all of the cookies. Probably more cookies than that.
I don't really see them as necessary. They are as useful as a basic land, with the downfalls of being non-basic. Unless the deck can put artifacts into play of course.
It provides another option for Trinket Mage I guess, but with Ring, Top, Chalice, etc. you probably have better targets 99% of the time.
EDH is like French fries: some people like waffle cut, crinkle cut, or plain old straight cut, and while there's slight flavor difference and personal preference, at the end of the day they're still fries.
If you can repeat Trinket Mage (and plan to), they are not bad at all. I throw TM into all my non-green tri-colored decks...and dual-colored decks that could use some GY hate as often as possible.
I view them as low-profile metalcraft enablers. I'm the only person in my meta that runs Nevinyrral's Disk, and the only player who uses Akroma's Vengeance/Austere Command is currently playing Omnath. The rest of our sweepers tend to leave my lands alone.

A friend of mine yesterday played a brand new Glissa, the Traitor artifact-centric deck. I played turn 3 Aura Shards and promptly blew up almost every permanent he played. I would say its pretty risky to do it. Disk destroys it as well as shatterstorm effects
You can't, which was the point. He's saying his artifact lands are safe in his meta because nobody but him runs sweepers that hits artifacts. The only other player who might is playing a deck that doesn't run them.
On topic, I've never included them in a deck, to date, but I've frequently considered it. Typically I find that my non-basic slots go towards other utility uses rather than supplementing some artifact-count theme. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the right deck/situation.
I've used a few of them in conjunction with Tezzeret the Seeker as mana-ramp for my W/U/B deck. Use the -X for 0 and put a land directly into play. Or use him like Garruk and untap a few lands. They aren't great, but they are ways to ensure I get the right colors eventually. The synergy with Trinket Mage also means that I can hit the off-color lands when necessary. This isn't the primary use for either Tezz or the Mage, but having that flexibility is nice.
Basically, my thought process was: "Hey, I'm already using Trinket Mage and Tezz ... "
They are risky but ultimately depend on the deck, I use one in my Thada Adel, Acquisitor deck and love when other people use them so I can steal them after taking all of their other good artifacts. I use them in Momir Vig, Simic Visionary as well, since that deck also runs artifact tutors and can protect them from destruction typically with control magic. I do not use them in any other deck though, as I feel they are too risky.
The only decks I have that run them are Zedruu and Norin. Both decks run Goblin Welder, so this gives me another way to Weld into important artifacts at basically no cost.
Zedruu runs Juxtapose and Legerdemain as well. Swapping an artifact land for a huge artifact like Blightsteel Colossus is amazing, and since lands are kind of difficult to get rid of, that leaves them with another permanent that Zedruu can profit from.
Norin runs Confusion in the Ranks. Stealing artifacts or lands with confusion plus artifact lands is likewise amazing.

I actually forgot to take them out post-Tolarian Academy-ban, but seeing as Tezz and Trinket Mage + Riptide Laboratory regularly fetch them out for color fixing, I decided to leave them in after a couple games.

EDH FTW
Currently running:
BRG Xira Arien BRG UR Melek, Izzet Paragon UR WUG Jenara, Asura of War WUG WRG Mayael the Anima WRG WB Triad of Fates WB BG Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest BG BR Rakdos, Lord of Riots BR WR Aurelia the Warleader WR WBG Ghave, Guru of Spores WBG WUBRG Horde of Notions WUBRG
cons include: randomly getting hosed by null rod, akroma's vengeance, meltdown et al
How much synergy makes them worth playing?
For instance, I have a Damia deck with trinket mage and tezzeret the seeker. Worth it?

-only other trinket mage grabs are sol ring and top (maybe mage should go? maybe everflowing chalice is playable?)
-only other targets for tezz's +1 are birthing pod, 3 signets, 1 talisman, 1 fellwar stone (it's nice for him to have things to untap)

The only time I'd even consider running artifact lands are in decks where Artifacts Matter. Arcum Dagsson, possibly Hanna, Ship's Navigator, etc.
Commanders:
Basandra, Battle Seraph | Diaochan, Artful Beauty | Mayael the Anima | Nath of the Gilt Leaf | Oona, Queen of the Fae | Raksha Golden Cub | Rayne, Academy Chancellor | Roon of the Hidden Realm
Tezzeret is worth it just to tutor pod and metamorph. He can also tutor sol ring/rocks, crucible, or top. He can untap pod. In a word, amazing.

Very true! But I'm still not sure the non-citadel ones are worth the risks.

PS. if your group allows Tolarian Academy, then run them all day long.
