So I'm working on a mono-white equip EDH deck, the first EDH deck i've ever built. I've only been playing since last october, but have gotten pretty good at the game (top 8'ed 9 FNMS, 1st in 3,) and so basically, I don't know enough cards to make a good enough EDH deck.
There's a link to the one I'm building in my signature, but I'm fairly certain I'm missing a few cards, as my knowledge isn't awesome in the format, nor the more historic cards.
I'd like to play a few cards like light and shadow, but it's not good enough for me to spend $35 on, so I'm subbing in loxodon warhammer. Another example of cards I'd like to play that aren't worth their cash for me, as I don't wanna spend TOO much on the deck, are like wasteland, and things like that. The only cards I'm playing with are the ones in the sig.
I was wondering though, what you thought of my deck, and if there is anything anyone would like to add? Specifically, I'd like to have a lot more tutors, but that doesn't seem like something that I can have, I either just don't know of enough, or there's just not enough.
anyways, thanks in advanced guys!

Hi there! It's nice to know people new always want to get help in building decks.
Some good white cards that will really help you are Steelshaper's gift, Stonehewer giant, and such that tutor cards. But, since someone already said them, let's look elsewhere. Junkdiver, and cards to that effect are really useful, and they could be picked up for not that much.
I've never seen it used, but maybe see if Scourglass helps, only because it wipes everything that isn't your own resource. The most important thing to note is the how equipments are all artifacts, and cards like Akroma and Planar makes sure that everything dies, while Scourglass gives you an advantage. However, popping it only at upkeep kinda kills it.
A little dude I find very helpful in these types of decks is Shimmer Myr, just because he can basically help you dump your equips out whenever.
Just a note, you have basically no real shroud giving equipments, like lightning greaves[/CARD], whispersilk cloak, and the likes. Having these things are kinda key to keeping your general, which I'm assuming Kemba, alive. However, since your kinda new to this whole thing, I'd wait a bit, for the newer greaves replacement that is out in M12, I think.
Oblation is one of the best ways to get rid of a General. There's also the new StP in the Commander Precons.
what's StP? Swords to Plowshares? It's only 4 bucks now, and I really dig the old art (idk if they've updated it.)
also, I think i'd really rather play that on my own cards... haha i like the draw.
oh! and anyone think that armageddon would be a good choice? I know it'll slow down me being able to get more equipments on the field, but say something like this happens:
t1 - kitesail apprentice
t2 - stoneforge for konda's banner
t3 - get out my kemba kha (general)
t4 - put konda's banner on kemba kha
t5 - armageddon (and get what's now a 4/4 kitty)
t6 - sword of feast and famine, then on kitesail, swing in, untap all lands, then two cheap equipments and equip both to kemba kha. (also get a 2nd 4/4 kitty)
t7 - more equipments on kemba kha, and get my 3rd, 4th, and 5th 4/4 kitty
t8 - continue like this, i'll have so many creatures and with lands being reset, they won't have a good way to deal with all my cat tokens, or my big creatures.

Also, so many of these white cards people keep seem to be suggesting are board wipers, idk how i feel about that - and i'm pretty sure I don't like it. It goes against the whole idea of my deck. I win through a few methods, but my best method is overrunning them, through lots of creatures that are buffed with equipments and enchantments like crusade or cards like Raksha Golden Cub and Konda's Banner.
Wrath-esque cards go against everything I'm trying to do, and destroy the whole point of my general, (though I could see late-game if i'm being overrun by another deck, to board wipe, then next turn bring out my general and reequipping him, so i'll have a constant stream of creatures, while they're having to top deck them, or bring out their own general)
I just don't think board wipers are good for my deck. That'd be like playing Day of Judgement in a current, standard, landfall boros...
First off, no. You're running basically no lands, no fetching, and no mana rocks, so it's suicide to run a mass LD card with the thought that you can do this by turn 8 and gain like a million cats with your billion card hands.
It'll be more like :
t1, same
t2, same, people see the stoneforge, prep up
t3, kemba, green deck is at like 7 lands or something stupid like that.
t4, attempt to equip, kemba is dead in response, sad face
t5, attempt to Armageddon, blue decks says no.

and you think that wrath of god wouldn't end up going the same way? If you think that my deck doesn't stand a chance, instead of telling me to kill every thing on the field and try ever so hard to get something useful off afterwards, why not try to actually help me out? Like you did in the first post when you seemed all nice. lol
but no, from your first post, I definitely like Whispersilk Cloak, Lightning Greaves, Eight-and-a-Half-Tails, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, and Elspeth, Knight-Errant. I think those cards (some were from the list a couple of people told me to check out) have the most synergy with my deck, though elesh norn is a bit expensive (which will be a bit rough when i'm not running a lot of lands, which I can get away with due to my mana curve [I've played around 15 3-match-games on cockatrice, which is a free online magic program that lets me play any cards i want for free and play with friends or randomly people, and playing on there with the current build, I win around 55% of the time, but slivers EDH, which i've seen twice, totally wreck me, as does red green goblin (which I saw once and played 3 rounds on.) but anyways, I've never had a mana problem. Things are just really cheap in my deck.)

No, I mean there's a new variant of StP (it's similar to Seal of Cleansing). I can't remember the name though.
I'm playing Path to Exile and Dispatch (though Idk how often I'll get metalcraft off, I'd imagine decently often.) It's coming out in M12 or the new Commander set, with like the pre-cons and what not?
EDIT: If you didn't mean StP Variant, what is it a variant of? Seal of Cleansing (so anti artifact / enchantment) or Plow (anti creature)?

It's in the Commander precons (the GBW one, specifically).
Dawn Charm is just too versatile to be ignored. It's a Fog (or Holy Day) against an alpha strike, a regeneration against a surprise pump/board wipe, and a counter against any pesky kill/bounce/tuck effects. With equip/voltron you're kinda centered on one or two key cards, keeping them alive is key.
No, I mean there's a new variant of StP (it's similar to Seal of Cleansing). I can't remember the name though.
this is the card, sinfire has mentioned:
Soul Snare W
Enchantment W, Sacrifice Soul Snare: Exile target creature that's attacking you or a planeswalker you control.
pros: A reusable removable. It can be brought back by sun titan, or the monk idealist like cards. Moreover, it can be searched via idyllic or enlightened tutor.
cons: The creature you intend to remove needs to attack. Relatively useless to problematic dorks with static effects. (iona, gaddock teeg) And since its an enchantment, you have to cast it while waiting for the target eliminating the element of surprise and exposing to removals.
and you think that wrath of god wouldn't end up going the same way?
I think what he was saying is that Wrath of God effects are so good that they should be in a white deck. ESP if you are going against anything using green. Your 2/2 cats that may be 4/4's wont really stand up to a Rhys the Redeemed deck that is pumping out 20+ tokens a turn than can then chump block your cats and keep going for blood.
In EDH there are alot of situations where a board clear is necessary for anyone to actually do anything. There are too many threats on the table for ANYONE to commit enough for a meaningful attack for fear that they will be singled out as they no longer have adequate defenses.
In this case, no one wants to attack and the board will stagnate until either something or everything is removed. As white, the optimal solution is a Hallowed Burial or multiple single card answers in Swords to Plowshares and Disenchants. The single card is the better solution.
You, using Kemba, are at a huge advantage when using Wrath effects in that you only have 1 creature that needs to be replayed and it is a general. The hoard will rise again. They do not have this luxury and will have to find individual creatures to recover from the board wipe.
You definitely do not need all the mass removal that is in the above deck list, but the big ones such as Hallowed Burial, Austere Command, Final Judgement, etc (those that do not JUST destroy creatures) are highly valuable and deserve a place in ANY white deck.
I don't really buy cards for edh decks (I think the format is best if you just use what you have), so maybe it's best in my style, but I like phyrexian rebirth. Basic wrath, except it's a little lopsided in your favor. The token will probably get dealt with, but you could boots him up potentially and start getting in there pretty fast. And it's pretty cheap if you do buy it (or you could just have one from drafting).
Okay, perhaps I should be more clear about this, but my message is that you're using white, which is basically the worst off in terms of drawing extra cards and getting more lands. It can tutor up a lot of artifacts, which is what you want, but that's really it. Looking at your deck list, you basically are relying on lands to get mana. This is not a good combination to use Armageddon with, because the bi and tri colored decks will usually run mana rocks like signets and sol rings and dynamos, all really good cards(hint hint, nudge nudge, try to get some). So you see, land is a resource that you're gonna have to get it step by step, turn by turn, unlike green ramp decks. Having a global LD isn't something you can really afford.
Now, onto other topics:
Artifact recursion, while really really good, is kinda expensive to get very effective ones. However, I would recommend to try this one card Frantic Salvage, I have no idea if it's good, but refilling your library is very useful, and the card draw is always good.
Wrath effects: Yeah, Kemba. You've got yourself a token making, general damage dealing, jet flying, kiss stealing, son of a gun! While she's good to hit and make dudes with, the best wrath effects are always cool. However, a normal wrath just isn't gonna cut it these days, because there's always better ones. Rebirth is cool, as it Austere. One other wrath i would use is Hour of Reckoning, if nothing else, you'll have a board while no-one else does, and Convoke is pretty nuts.
I'm sorry if my tone makes me sound like a jackass, but I just hope people can enjoy to play this format without spending too much time getting stuck on a step, then getting mad and quitting.
There's a link to the one I'm building in my signature, but I'm fairly certain I'm missing a few cards, as my knowledge isn't awesome in the format, nor the more historic cards.

from the top of my head, stonehewer giant and steelshaper's gift are good for fetching equipments. reveillark and karmic guide are good creature recursions which i think you should run to cycle your graveyard. you might also want to include a few mana ramp cards: land tax, weathered wayfarer, artifact mana.

AS others have mentioned you need Stonehewer Giant, Stoneforge Mystic and Steelshaper's Gift. They can tutor up relevant protection for kemba. Also things like Brave the Elements and Emerge Unscathed might be useful.
