I first dismissed this as a crappy chaos card almost too much like Knowledge Pool. A symmetrical effect that the other players get first. But I looked a little closer at one big difference- the first line of text.
Players can't draw cards
In the right decks, this card could be bananas. Red and white (and some green) decks that typically are hosed in the card drawing department can play this and completely equalize the game. Is there some potential here for this in Boros and other decks to shut down the card drawing advantages that other decks typically use to beat them and level the playing field? Am I being silly and this card really has no chance? What do you guys think?
It would be a great blue hoser. A lot of their counterspells and card drawing spells would just go poof with this in play. I actually looked at it first as Teferi combo but even then it isnt as good as Knowledge Pool because players can finish off what is in their hands.
The real problem is that it is a card you will be casting at sorcery speed to try to screw over blue players for the most part. What are the chances this will really work out???
My second question being how much of the deck would you have to change to make this work at its best. This is still a chaos card and it will be benefiting everyone unless you find a way to make it benefit you moreso. In a 100 card format it is hard to sculpt a deck to make something like this work out.
I think it is still probably a Teferi combo piece but Knowledge Pool is just outright better for him. I wouldnt really bother trying to make it work personally.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I am liking Omen Machine since it was spoilt, though only for my Standard Casual Grand Architect.
That said, I think that the machine is quite a build around card. Ironically, it does not hose boros aligned decks as much as it hoses permission heavy deck though an active Jace 2.0 on their side can backfire in a huge way.
I feel that this card will work well in a RG deck that's full of big nasty creatures and spells. That way, RG can do what it does best without worring about having their bombs countered. Apart from something like that, I don't see this working out too well.
It also frees up your mana to use abilities/equipment, etc. Get some good beefy guys with good abilities... some sort of put stuff into your hand, and you're good.
I could see it working out in a deck with some library manipulation ala Scroll Rack or Mirri's Guile as well, though Sylvan Library and Sensei's Divining Top are either useless or significantly worse. I'll probably give it a shot at some point.

Ohhhh blehhhh, in a Mayael the Anima deck. Ohhh that would be abusive.
They usually run 30+ big old fatties and she cheats more into play using herself. It would be mean as hell.
See what I mean? This is why I made the thread. There are definitely some cases where you can break the symmetry of this card in half. I want to know more
I hate chaos cards and I hate chaos decks with a sheer passion. If I ever see this hit play I will attempt to kill the player first, if I can't I will then attempt to destroy the omen machine. Regardless of the outcome I will target that player for the rest of the day.

Even if it's not used as a chaos card? If you break the symmetry, this functions more like a lock piece than chaos.

It just seems like another chaos card, and if it didn't get blown up or countered the whole table will sigh as they just play War instead of Magic
but getting it into play would hose Azami pretty well.

I don't think this would work. Abundance will only work if you were to draw a card. Omen Machine stops you from drawing.
