I was considering building a few different sets of decks with the intention that they would function like duel decks. I was wondering if anyone else had tried this or if there was any other insight to be gained by along the community.
Thanks in advance. I will be sure to post my progress as the process continues.

That would depend on how you define "duel decks". I know many players with two 1v1 decks who consider those as "duel decks". Whether those decks are roughly equivalent on power level is another story altogether (for reference, look at how Divine v. Demonic had a disproportionately powerful Divine duel deck -- at least it seems so, in my experiences).

My wife hates playing with normal EDH decks because they require a lot of reading (not a fun part of casual gaming for her) and lack combat interaction. So, between my own decks I have been working on a couple of lists that:
1. Will play well with one another
2. Feel more like you are controlling a couple of armies.
3. Will be balanced and somewhat reactionary to one another.
Non-Blue Tribal seems like the best way to go for this so I have Monowhite Soldiers and Wort, the Raidmother Goblins. The hard part has been NOT putting in the best cards possible, but when you respect the mana curve and force the deck to win with Combat it makes it easier.
I was thinking of trying to tune my prospective Skithiryx and Mageta decks to fight each other. I think it would be a pretty cool kind of W vs. B match up. Both are more of the voltron/control types of guys and they could have some very unique types of strategies. Those are my thoughts anyways.
