Heh, I pimp out my decks as much as I can on my current budget, working my way through Xira and Crosis right now. They can get scary in 1 v 1, but neither is a particularly dangerous general, and the pimp is purely for pimp purposes. Oddly enough, in my regular playgroup, the only one who really hates on me is the only one with more pimped-out decks than me, everyone else hates on him.
Besides, few things are as fun as saying, "In response, German Fork?"

I know what you mean. Play foil primeval titan, search for judge foil Gaea's Cradle and judge foil Maze of Ith makes me feel good, especially if my Altered Candelabra of Tawnos is in play. :3 This might be why I get hated on in EDH tournament pods.
I love pimping out my EDH deck, and I try to only do it via trading. I hate spending money on cards since I can't really afford to do so. I have some cards being altered right now, can't wait to play with them.
I'm three basic common/uncommon cards away from finishing out all non-rare foils in my Rafiq deck. (Graypelt Refuge, Cultivate and Acidic Slime). Then I start on the rares I don't have (Sword of Fire and Ice, etc.) that are a little more difficult to obtain

I always try to pimp out my decks. I always keep the pimping in the realm of:
* Proxy General that looks quite fine. I've done this once so far and that was for Orim, I just like her vanguard art a wee-bit more than her legendary creature card art.
* Languages and Foils. I always keep within the realm of having cards foiled in the languages: English, French, Russian, and German.
If it counts on what other stuff you use to showoff your deck: Playmats, Sleeves, Life Counters, Coin-Creature-Tokens, and Deck Boxes. Which is also why I think I have so few EDH decks (Four now).

Every single card is non-foil and the earliest printing I could get my hands on (meaning my original duals/berserk/demonic tutor/sol ring are Revised not Beta).
I think it definitely draws the attention away from me when playing with people I don't know.

Blackboarder your Revised stuff and it becomes a different kind of pimp. A buddy of mine has an Adun Okenshield deck with everything unfoiled and beta if possible (including duals), and it is probably the most pimp deck I've seen in person.
I keep trading for foil edh staples and edh playables in general, with an extra focus on my sharuum deck at the moment(8 cards left). And at some point I can build the edh deck I want and have it all foiled right off the bat.

Foils ftw!
Concur!
Sliver Queen is my current foiling project. It works out because it means that I will (eventually) have a set of foil shock lands, beta duals and a ton of other EDH staples foiled/judged/beta which can go into other EDH decks if I ever tear apart Queen. It's not likely, but at least I will have the option.

Yes! I too have been hard at work getting foil staples! I just got my first foil Swords to Plowshares tonight, in fact! Traded the Koth of the Hammer I opened at the pre-release for it. Also traded a pile of standard junk for another Bayou (only 7 more until I have a complete set of 40 duals!) and a laundry list of foil goodies. Krosan Verge, Hull Breach, Spiritmonger. Yup--great haul tonight.
In response to the OP: not only do I target people with better lands than I have, my red decks are packed with nonbasic land hate, the first draft of my articles had a flowchart entitled "Sorting Algorithm of Face-Smashing" which said that if it's early game and everyone else has just played "land, go," you should always beat on whoever has the most expensive land out.
In the absence of more information, you should go with the person who has the best lands, because they'll have more options when they untap.
EDIT: I only have revised duals. I'm still the most pimpin' player I play against, so that's good enough for me.
Playing a fully jap foil/korean deck is great. Lots of people don't know what certain cards do and don't bother asking. It reminds me of playing a completely jap foil dredge deck in legacy. People who didn't understand how the deck worked would just sit there and use tormods crypt at the wrong time.

That's exactly why I never use foreign cards. Just annoys people or trips them up. Pimp can only go so far.
I'm working on foiling out Hanna. I traded for a pithing needle a few days ago, and an hour later i traded it away so i could get a foil pithing needle.
I also hoard foil staples and "fun" cards so i can trade them to EDH players at slightly higher values... economics taught me something

Tantarus: It didn't make the gaka greifer level, so it should be fine
Unfortunately, as much as I enjoy pimping my EDH decks, it can be a downfall quite often. I tend to use some cards that people don't see that often, and when I get them in textless/foreign/etc., people who borrow my decks are always having to ask "What does this card do?" You'd think it would get people to stop borrowing them, but... eh, whatever. I just tell them not to play it until they know what it does.

I don't want to foreign out everything in my Sliver Queen deck, just all of my wrath effects (So far I have Japanese Foil Austere Command, Japanese Hallowed Burial and Foil Chinese Final Judgment. Need Decree of Pain and Marshall Coup), and Lands (working on foil shocks right now, then Japanese or Russian foil ones).
Japanese Shocks look so good, they must tap for an extra mana.

Yeah, any of the "staples" such as shocks and wipes, i would defenitely like to be foreign. Spices up the deck and most players should know what they do anyways.

I only like foreign cards that are simple in nature and/or have artwork that is easily recognizable. A few here and there for pimp, but I like a lot of variation in my foils and "pimp."
Side Note: I am never buying FtV boxes ever again. The cards just feel and look fake. It bothers me that much, which is sad. Discovered I would much rather just play with the originals, and plan on trading for them.
Id that!
