thank you for the response, i can see dropping one of the essence slivers. i use to have 2 heart slivers in my deck but i wanted to slime my deck down to only 3 colors. i think i will go with 3 brainstorms and 1 ponder or 2 and 2. the one thing i feel my deck is lacking is some "tricks" and combos. i often empty my hand early in the game. i used to have the sliver queen/heart stone combo but it never really connected as often as i wanted. my deck is pretty much a straight forward agro. i want to put some spell Pierce but i feel if i do then my deck will have too many blue spells.
also i'm on a budget and only periodically update this deck, and i don't know if it is worth the money to buy some fetch lands as i don't even really play that often.
there are some slivers that i wouldn't mind having in my deck like heart, homing and Necrotic, i defiantly see the power of the Necrotic Sliver however i always find it hard to sacrifice any of my slivers in play and the black/white casting cost doesn't fit in my deck. also you recommended Darkheart sliver, exactly when can you "Sacrifice" a sliver? because i us to have 3-4 Hibernation Sliver in this deck but the combo has been nerfed.
i also must comment that i know what it feels like to "be that guy", and quiet frankly i always get hit first in multi-player, with the explanation of "hes playing slivers". i think that slivers just have a reputation of being over powered, which is comparatively not true anymore.
hibernation and darkheart doesnt have more the true combat tricks they have in the past, but the trick still usefull, you see a board clean (wrath of god) comming ? you can save the best slivers or gain life.
i agree, necrotic is flavour, but its too slow for what he does.
some people in casual use dormant sliver + hibernation to do draw, you use the hibernation ability to return dorment to hand when you dont need more draw, but its other type of deck.
Hi everybody...old time player looking to get back in. Been following the new sets and just made the first deck that I really like. Not even sure of the new rules, so consider me a casual player with no budget. Can't believe how expensive the cards got!
Check out my first deck, yet to be playtested. Will accept any and all suggestions to make it my ultimate sliver deck.
Strategies include but are not limited to:
1. Root Sliver with Nether Void, backed up by Gemhide for additional mana
2. Pestilence with Fungus Sliver to pump up creatures
3. Living Plane with Hivestone for overrun
4. Living Plane with Pestilence, if my lands are Slivers
I feel like I'm missing something though...thanks in advance.
well, you can always Eradicate lands once they are creatures. Or Echoing Decay. This is only really good if your opponents are playing lots of basics.
Vampiric Sliver or Might Sliver are the only slivers I would think about adding in. Maybe Quick Sliver. I don't think you need 4 Darkheart or Toxin since they do not stack and are not essential to combos.

If I were to make a sliver deck, I personally would use 4 Virulent Sliver just on the off chance it may kill. With Shadow Sliver it becomes a much more realistic strategy
you need a playtest, but i agree, with two colors, i dont think you need gemhide, if you wanna stay with the gems and you arent in colors for crystal, try to include some steely resolve, also your draw needs creatures on board, i really think you can find better draws like harmonize, sign in blood, or even library helping with sylvan library or mirri's guile.
also you can drop some of the high costed slivers for creature tutor or ramp spells (ramp spells only if you drop the gems)
is the counter-sliver deck the most competitive sliver deck these days? i have been looking at a lot of builds and they all have force of will, is there a budget substitute for it?
also in your opinion is virulent sliver worth running, is it more efficient if it is replaced with some form of a spell counter?
and is worship a good card to add?
worship is slow, can have spot on a focused sliver deck for them.
virulent works as 1 cmc drop and alternate win con, depends the deck you face to use him.
the most competitives decks for slivers still the decks that use the counter/zoo body, both kinds are good to use in the casual.
force of will + daze (high $$ package) can be played with or replaced by these packages:
I am able to get any Sliver I want into play very easily. The sac lands are great to thin the deck for more Slivers!!! I play this deck a few times a week and I haven't lost with it yet!!! Usually me friends get pissed and I put it away Slivers is a very fun deck to play. IMHO if you put any spells in a Sliver deck you are playing it wrong all creatures and land!!!! I don't how many times someone has Duress me for nothing!!hahaha

All creatures and lands is one way to build a sliver deck, for sure. But how will you respond when your friends play combo or control with Wrath of God, Tsabo's Decree, Extinction or Propaganda?

By the time they are able to cast most of those spells they have already taken a good beating, by turn 5-6 they are usually dead especially if I get gemhide, ziggurat out. Slivers do so much on their own they don't really need support.

decree and extinction are too slow... and isnt a true power vs sliver, from the other side *** and Propaganda are a great problem, with gemhide in the table, propaganda is useless, but i agree, even if a only creature/land sliver deck can do a great job, it really depends of the casual meta you face.
a mix with creatures/spells/lands is the best option for sure, the cool point with slivers is, if you want, you can drop the spells to run only creature for a fun table ^^
Just added a few cards to my sliver deck and had a quick question, probably sounds stupid. If i give a creature the sliver creature type, and it has an ability, do all slivers get that ability?
Just added a few cards to my sliver deck and had a quick question, probably sounds stupid. If i give a creature the sliver creature type, and it has an ability, do all slivers get that ability?
if i am understanding the question correctly then no. changing a creature's type to sliver does not allow all other slivers to gain that ability, it explicitly has to say "all slivers have...." in this particular case.
and yea i was thinking of taking those slivers out of my deck for counters, but the thing is that if i do it messes up my whole mana base and i have to change that up, which is a pain. i was also going to switch out the gemhides with Aether's Vial.
Cool. Also, maybe you guys could help. My friend and I get into heated debates about whether or not you can bring out Emrakul with an elvish piper. He has protection from colored spells, I take that as meaning instants, sorceries, equipments, and enchantments. The source is colored, but it's an activated ability, not a spell, am I right?

That's a good call...
My original version of this deck (before it lost focus) also included 1 Sliver Queen, 1 Sliver Overlord, 1 Sliver Legion, Basal Sliver, Heartstone, and Green Sun's Zenith. Not sure if it's worth trying to cram that strategy into the 8 non-essential cards that you mentioned.
My reason? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwpht9-S2bM
Also, I think that Gemhide Sliver's ability's potential is not realized in a deck with only 2 colors
also you can drop some of the high costed slivers for creature tutor or ramp spells (ramp spells only if you drop the gems)

i was just thinking of a sliver overlord/changeling/counter deck and some how still have the staple crystalline/sinew/might/winged slivers.
i am also thinking of taking out the brainstorms of my deck and putting either spell pierce or mana leak
even ward sliver lock that combo... its fun, but not good...
never drop all draws cards you have in the deck, if you run blue... counters and draw is the main point to add blue in the deck.
