This deck has a whopping 25 multicoloured cards in it, making the mimic's trigger pretty easy to achieve. I find the quality of Boros Multicolours is higher in the common section than any other combination. A lot of these cards seem very playable. I've played a few games with it versus Delver and did okay.
I'm actually not a huge fan of Double Cleave, as there aren't any high-attack creatures that really take advantage of swinging twice. A first strike + pump spell would probably be better, but there are no Boros-coloured ones available. It's a tie between Double Cleave and Zealous Strike. Help!
Fencer's Magemark is cool, but I don't run enough auras for it to work well here (and I don't want to either, it would defeat the purpose of a combat trick).
I would run Double Cleave in this deck to trigger the mimic. The Mimic is also likely the best target for it, getting four damage off before the normal strike.

Yeah the thing is that it already gets first strike when it's triggered, so it will only apply normal combat damage (not bad, but not the best use). Like I said, there aren't that many great targets for Double Cleave. But the multicoloured trigger is probably the best way to go, unfortunately.
Scourge of the Nobilis can really add a lot of longevity to the deck in certain matchups. The life gain is great and the firebreathing can add a faster clock when you've been stalled.
That' an excellent suggestion, actually! I was thinking the deck needed some life gain. That'll fit very well into the deck. I think I'll swap Carom out for it. Carom was really good the one time I got to use it, but it was often sitting in my hand doing nothing, when I could have had something else that could actually do more damage. Scourge of the Nobilis will work really well, even on the Boros Recruit (first strike and firebreathing is a great combo). At the same time, I don't want more than two as they can attract removal for card disadvantage.
Oh, you think the losers' bracket is your ally, but you merely adopted the scrub tier. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t 4-0 an FNM until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but an extra pack to sell for store credit!
That's a good card, yes. I'm looking for mostly multicoloured cards to trigger the Mimic, but a cantrip is great too. Which is more worth it?
The draw is nice on Psychotic Fury, but I'd rather use Double Cleave for the big swings on the Mimic! I a;so think you should up the Double Cleaves to 4 since it can really help close the game in a lot of situations. Maybe swap the counts on Martial Glory and Cleave.
I also really like Thundersong Trumpeter! It can completely shut out any big threats that would be hard to work around. How's it been working out so far?

I'm confused on what you mean here. Are you saying you believe it would only deal 4 damage with both First and Double Strike or 8?
The mimic is the only creature that will actually benefit from a substantial damage boost from Double Cleave. All the others have 2 power, so would end up doing 4 damage total. That's 1 less than with Martial Glory, although it doesn't make them deal first strike damage.
The Trumpeter is actually really cool! He stops a threat from attacking, and when I want an alpha strike, I can stop a creature from blocking. 2 power is also very relevant; he's a great attacker in the early game. Definitely a keeper.
I can see how that is a confusing comment, sorry! What I meant to say is that normally, Double Cleave would add both first strike and normal damage to the creature, but in the case of the Mimic, it only adds the regular damage, making the first strike part less relevant (as opposed to playing double cleave on a creature without first strike). It kinda feels like I'm only getting half the ability when I play it on Mimic. I do know the mimic would do 8 damage, which is definitely nice.
If you are finding that the Double Cleave is underwhelming, but Trumpeter and Martial Glory are doing well, I'd also second Psychotic Fury. You won't be playing this without another r/w card in hand, and the cantrip will help you keep up pressure. I'd say it's worth testing at least. You could also just go up a few copies to have a playset of Trumpeter and Firstblade.

Just went through all of the common cards with first strike, and I think you may be out of luck.

Have you tested Goblin Legionnaire or Wojek Halberdiers?
Legionnaire seems like a great way to protect your mimic from removal, he's a two power beater, and he can also act as burn straight to the face.
Halberdiers is a 3 power two drop, and he is a pretty good target for psychotic fury as well.
