I feel like the titles for these 2 stickied threads are too long. My eyes just glance over them, and it doesn't help that they're so similar. (starting with the same 5 words and ending with the same 5) I think they'd better off something like this:
Read This - Paper Pauper/Peasant Forum Rules [Official] - Paper Pauper/Peasant Banned Cards
...as compared to what they are currently...
[Official] - Casual Paper Pauper / Paper Peasant Forum Rules Thread: Please Read Before Posting. [Official] - Casual Paper Pauper / Paper Peasant Banned Cards Thread: Please Read Before Posting.
These aren't necessarily casual formats, so that's misleading. People only really need to read the forum rules before posting, (not the ban list) and that could be more eye catching with the red 'Read This' prefix. It should be pretty clear that these are 'threads', or else I'm not sure how one would navigate the forums at all. Finally, 'Paper' is written twice per title.
Okay, one more thing. I want to say that 'Paper' isn't necessary either, as it's declared in the forum title, and we have less restrictions than MTGO Pauper. They're the ones who should have to specify! As an aside, has there been any discussion of merging the two forums? I feel like it'd be easier to have a single pauper forum with thread prefixes like [MTGO] or [Paper] than to have to go back and forth, and have much of the same info duplicated in each forum.
Additionally, the primer request thread could probably use an [Official] prefix.
As for thread content, I think the Forum Rules thread could use some elaboration on the first point:
If you want your deck to be legal in an official format such as Modern Pauper, please say so in your introductory post.
...something like...
When introducing your deck in a new thread, please note which format it's intended for (Modern Pauper for example) along with the relevant ban list and any additional strictures.
Uh, suggestion time
I'd like a few more tags for the forum in general.
Currently we seem to only have SCD for single card discussions - which is good.
How about something for discussing entire sets (as is done whenever a new set is released)?
What about a format tag? eternal, modern, standard, block, ...
And finally, I'd really like that combo repository, at least for pauper - might get a bit too big for peasant.
I like all of the ideas both of you have mentioned. I will implement and or pass along most if not all of them here shortly. I have been busy with work and yada yada so things will get rolling here soon!
