Hello everyone, just getting into Pauper and brewed up a red green eldrazi spawn deck.
The deck uses all of the ways to make Eldrazi Spawn tokens in Red Green, i.e. Nest Invader, Spawning Breath, Brood Birthing, Growth Spasm, Kozilek's Predator, and Emrakul's Hatcher.
It has a few ways to win, using Impact Tremors, then playing token generators to deal damage to the face while making chump blockers/extra mana. If you're able to get out multiple Impact Tremors it can be pretty devastating, dealing 3-8 damage with just one of our cards that make tokens.
We can also cast a turn three Hand of Emrakul, or even hard cast it later in the game if we only have a couple Eldrazi Spawn.
There's also Echoing Courage for when we want to go wide with our tokens.
In removal I have Lightning Bolt and Massive Raid, which can also close out a game.
It also has one Sylvok Lifestaff to gain a chunk of life back in a pinch.
Initially the deck had four Raid Bombardemnt but after playtesting it was way too slow and inconsistent because I'd usually lose my tokens in combat.
I want to keep the main package of Hand of Emrakul, Impact Tremors, Brood Birthing, Spawning Breath, and Nest Invader because that's the core of the deck.
I'm not familiar with the format so I don't know what sort of sideboard I should build either.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Could you elaborate on your matchups a bit? What is your experience with the deck up to now? I like your inclusion of the life staff. I would put some more in the sideboard against burn, goblins and stompy as your bigger creatures can outclass theirs. Alternatively you can use moment's peace. pyroblast against delver, MUC and drake. ancient grunge against affinity.
I really like the look of this list. Seems like a lot of fun!
I would look into some Convoke cards, mainly Sprout Swarm could give you a good amount of late game token generation with Impact Tremors. Sundering Vitae would be a decent sideboard choice if you like the idea of a free spell.
There's also Bloodbriar if you are playing the sac game. It can get crazy fast!
As far as Strength in Numbers vs Massive Raid I would personally stick to the direct damage option as it is harder to work around. Strength can be stopped by fogs, spot removal and counter spells while Raid can only really be hit by counter spells since most fog effects just prevent combat damage.
@darkninja:
I agree with your analysis of massive raid vs. strengh in numbers (might of the masses is probably better) as long as massive raid is meant to be raid bombardment. But let me add the following: strengh in numbers can save an attacker against damage removal or kill a blocker. It might even prevent some opponents from blocking with their valuable creatures because they suspect a trick. Raid bombardment on the other hand doesn't add value to your board situation other than the threat of damage to the face (a lot though)
For this deck I like the suggested blood briar and sprout swarm. But what to cut other than massive raid? Maybe a few echoing courage? Magnify is might be an alternative as it also pumps your token producers.
