MTG Salvation

I just saw this deck on MTGGoldfish, and I thought it was so awesome, I had to post it here for some thoughts.



As a huge fan of combo eggs in any format, this is really getting me excited! It's nice to see that combo still isn't quite dead in Pauper. I'll have to give this decks a run and see what I can do with it. It's obviously going to take a ton of practice in order to learn properly, but my hundreds of games with Legacy Eggs will definitely pay off here.

Any comments on the list?

I think not having 4x Conjurer's Bauble is a mistake, and I would definitely play it over a Terrarion.

No sack outlet?

No sac outlet necessary! Eggs sacrifice themselves for mana (usually), and they are free to play with Etherium Sculptor, making them cycle for free until you run out!

I was missing about $4 worth of stuff for the deck and grabbed it a few days ago. I don't know if it's good or not, but it's combo and it's new. That's enough for me.

I'll just break apart my Affinity deck to try it out for now, but it looks like it goes 90% Affinity with the board anyway.

I'm thinking of taking out a few of the win conditions and/or land and Terrarion and adding Manamorphose and Gitaxian Probe, as they cycle for free as well as provide either mana fixing or important information.

I think you need more bulk draw. Treasure Cruise fits into the deck perfectly, as you are dumping things into your graveyard constantly. Faithless Looting is bad in this deck, I would replace it with something that nets you card advantage. The deck as a whole is basically artifact-storm, using etherium sculptor to make your cards free.

The deck seems really cool with multiple avenues of winning: a "Gravestorm" kill similar to the Sharuum the Hegemon combo in EDH with Disciple of the Vault, a direct Kiln Fiend approach with Glaze Fiend (they're even both Fiends), and a more inevitable kill with Golem Foundry just in case you get disrupted.

I agree about going to 4 Baubles and cutting Terrarion entirely in favor of Manamorphose: Terrarion halts your Artifact Storm by coming into play tapped. While Manamorphose isn't an artifact, it at least allows you to keep going.

I would cut Frantic Salvage for Drafna's Restoration as a better impersonation of Second Sunrise: same effect minus the drawing, but much cheaper. Just be sure to leave one egg unbroken or a Thoughtcast to draw a card and start the cycle anew.

The Pyrite Spellbomb seems better as AEther Spellbomb. You mostly want them for drawing cards, and if you ever need to remove a creature for going all in with Glaze Fiend it will be the same as the Pyrite, with the exception of being able to deal with Kor Skyfisher.

Finally, I would cut the Faithless Looting for Gitaxian Probe to see if the coast is clear before comboing out on top of a free draw. I would cut one Golem Foundry in favor of Scrapyard Salvo as a giant Burn spell when you're done, and I would try swapping Galvanic Blast for some basic form of disruption / protection, like Mizzium Skin, Dispel or Duress.

If you're not playing by the online banlist then yeah, as others have already said Treasure Cruise is a must.

Taking this idea on a bit of a tangent here, but do you feel it would take up too much space to work in a Battered Golem/Banishing Knack combo into the deck? That would give you great disruption to hold off swarms or any other problematic board state until you can get your combo. It also adds another way to go infinite with Glaze Fiend or Foundry if you already have Etherium Sculptor and an egg in play. Might pull the deck in a bit of a different direction, but I felt it deserved to be suggested.
