so yeah, just a rough idea
was talking to my shop owner about doing a pauper tourney, he said hes got alot of requests for it, and i told him about a pauper extort idea, he said that has a chance of working, so i want to make one.
this is my idea, its mainly all standard(minus the ring)
most expensive card is 5, so that will help with the extorting + 16 creatures with extort
but thoughts and ideas are welcome, id love to get it going in the works and make it work
The new mechanic has promise, so it looks pretty interesting. You said your deck is going to be standard, does that mean the entire tourney is standard only, or are you choosing to play standard?
EDIT: I saw you just changed out Altar's Reap for Shadow Slide, I would of personally kept in Altar's Reap as one of, if not the most powerful effect in pauper is card draw.
its standard cause i have never made a pauper deck, and its just a list i threw together off cards on the top of my head.
but, i threw the shadow slice in there cause if was fun during draft(cipher+extort), it was in my head, it just slipped, and how many altars reap do you think, should i put it back to 2? like -1 ring and slice? or should it be a more of?

also, any ideas for an sb?
Honestly you might consider running 3-4 Altar's Reap because as I said before, card draw beats in pauper.
But if you want to keep your other spells where they are, then drop Shadow Slice down to 2 or lose it all together. I would keep Oblivion Ring at 4 and never lose it. That is your only answer against enchantments and artifacts, that is a must have keep no matter what.
As far as your side board goes, what decks will you be facing or expect to be facing? Without knowing what is in your meta, preparing for it is kind of difficult.
If your not playing standard might I suggest a few other things? For one swap Daggerdrome Imp for vault skirge. You have plenty of life gain to off set the phyrexian mana if you use it. Also you already have O-ring and Stab Wound to kill creatures maybe drop the murders for despoil, choking sands, or Befoul (if you need the extra creature kill) because 8 post can be tricky, and LD is never dead.
But I really wish this was Peasant because I'd love to still 4 cabal coffers in this XD.
while it is standard legal it's not standard pauper legal. standard pauper only looks if it has been printed as a common in the sets that are standard legal.

This is true, standard pauper is the hardest form of pauper lol
If the tournament wasn't standard this card would be fine. So you will have to replace it with another form of enchantment and artifact hate.
Is there any white artifact hate I forgot? I only found stuff for enchantments, like Silverchase Fox. There's 23 artifacts in Standard that are Pauper legal at the moment and Murder seems to deal with most of them, going without artifact hate seems reasonable unless I'm stupid because there's something huge I overlooked. <.<

I think he is actually safe in that department now that I look at it. So just enchantments will be the issue.
You cannot have classic and standard at the same time, they are two completely different formats.
Classic Rules:
Classic is a format that allows all sets and promotional cards.
Standard Rules:
Decks must contain cards from only these sets.
Innistrad
Dark Ascension
Avacyn Restored
Magic 2013
Return to Ravnica
Gatecrash (effective February 1, 2013)
Dragon's Maze (effective May 3, 2013)
The only way you could ever mix the two formats is if the tournament itself is playing under classic rules, and you are choosing to play with only standard cards. If that is the case then this really isn't going to work then, you are going to have such a hard time it isn't even funny because you are limited and they are not.
I really hope you have mis-understood what standard and classic are, because if you really are limiting yourself to standard and the other people are not then this is a horrible idea.
If you weren't playing standard I would suggest removing Murder for the far better card of Unmake. That is one of the absolute best removals in the pauper format as it is an instant and it completely removes them from play.
i think its a miss understanding on both ends, the is classic pauper, the list is just made off of cards from the top of my head which happens to be standard cards (people i play with dont play anything outside of standard, with the exception of edh, hence the standard cards) its not the final list, morealess a rough draft.
1) If you can support sign in blood's BB casting cost then go for it the 2 life lose will not bother you with all the extort. If you can't reliably hit BB then stick with altar's reap.
2) Maybe the disciple of grace, but I'd say sideboard if at all. The other Disciples aren't that great. Blood seeker might not bad, but I like your extort creatures, I'd keep vault skirge (in place of the daggerdome imp) and then find a stronger 1 drop then the trull.
3) Phyrexian mana would be nice for you leaving more actual mana for extort. I say give it a shot.
4) Ashes to ashes looks too painful to be honest. Dash hopes is pretty bad as it will never be what you need when you need it. Castigate is a strong discard, it might be a strong card to try, but since it cost 2 to make them discard 1 I'd recommend raven's crime or duress over it so you can cast and still extort more.
Okay, so you're not having to do Standard Pauper, your card pool just has a lot of Standard cards in it, am I right in thinking this?
If that's the case, then Oblivion Ringis legal so you don't have to find alternative, flexible enchantment/artifact hate. It was originally printed at common, so it can be used (it's one of those rules to make the deckbuilding easier). You could even get Lorwyn/Shards of Alara version Oblivion Rings if you want (or Archenemy, or Planechase, or Duel Decks...).
If that's the case, then try Vault Skirge over Dutiful Thrull or Daggerdrome Imp. Since you can spend 1 on it, you can play it even when color screwed. Something to increase power might be nice, like Bonesplitter, Hyena Umbra or Edge of the Divinity of something. The only real downside about Skirge in comparison is it can be hit by artifact hate, which is at least worth a note if you'll run into people mainboarding Naturalize for some reason or another.
Edit: Wow, my post came late because of networking troubles lol.
The 0 drops might be a little much, considering they have no actual capability to affect your opponent's life total outside of extort. Cheaper creatures and spells is still a good thing, but going for ones with no power at all might be a little much, especially when they're just blockers. I'd still recommend Vault Skirge over Ornithopter, and another 1-2 mana creature (preferably one with power) over Phyrexian Walker.
I think it's legal in paper but not a common online, so you won't be able to play it on mtgo.
If you're going for the walkers and so on, I'd throw in some kind of equipment to let them deal damage; some combo of Sylvok Lifestaff, Bonesplitter, or bone saw.
revised list w/ sideboard.
forgot about the vampire, i figured it would be a nice admission with the extort and all.
went with sign in blood over altars reap, havent done much play testing, but i usually have enough black to pay the BB.
sideboard is still bleh, but atleast its something.

The deck is looking much better as a whole, but you are right about the sideboard being "bleh".
If you can figure out what to expect that would be ideal but right off the bat I can tell you that Gitaxian Probe as much as I love that card is wasting space. You already have sufficient card draw, and you don't have any way to really deal with what is in their hand by simply looking at it, even then you have Castigate which allows you to remove a card.
The extra Unmake is useless as-well, you should never need a full 8 removal, you already have 7 so the chance of you drawing that 8th is slim to none so that is another card out of it.
The extra Castigate might be ok, but if you remove that it wouldn't really hurt you, just more room for something to directly counter a problem.
Have you asked around to see what people plan on playing?
i have not had the chance to ask, i usually only go in for drafts on friday, and the occasional saturday things, but the pauper game day thing is "in the works" so its not a definite, and also, im not even sure who would be playing.

Well if you are fairly comfortable with the main deck, perhaps just let it ride until you have had some games under your belt with it to really fine tune it some more. The deck as a whole looks good, but if you get trounced by ??????? then that is when the fine tuning can really begin to help counter certain situations.
Even if you don't fight pauper decks casually you can still get an idea of how well the deck plays by going against other casual decks outside of the format.
i did a bit of playtesting with it with my buddy, played against non-pauper decks, it actually works well, a bit slow to start. but, i kind of made another side board.
4x Kingpin's Pet
4x Syndic of Tithes
4x Syndicate Enforcer
4x Basilica Screecher
4x Daggerdrone Imp
4x Dutiful Thrull
4x Murder
4x Stab Wound
4x Oblivion Ring
4x Shadow Slice
4x Orzhov Guildgate

but, back to the deck. here are some ideas
altars reap vs sign in blood?
i dont know whats played in pauper, but for creatures, disciple of law, disciple of grace, disciple of malice. woud they be worth thinking about?
blood seeker? goes with the extort theme
phrexian mana spells?
like apostle's blessing
removal/control
ashes to ashes?
castigate for hand control
dash hopes black counters have to be fun

dont know why i didnt think of it before, but the 0 drops should be an auto in. has more draw now, still some removal
have no idea what to do for a sideboard.
@shoebaka.
i went with castigate over the other spells cause i get to choose, limits it a bit to nonland, and it exiles it, not just discard
edit:
with ornithopter, antquities says ''common (c4)'' whats that mean, and is it legal?
