This deck's biggest weakness is removal and/or other forms of interaction and Assault Formation does nothing to help you in the games in which things aren't going your way.

How would you do this deck better?

I agree with Velesese Thanks a bunch for all your help. Might I ask why you don't have any steely resolve or even a single lignify or any blighted woodland. Are you just using descendants' path to try to overwhelm their removal.
Note, I update the deck a bit. Even though the list has Treefolk Harbinger to tutor up Cinder Glade it's unlikely that you'll ever use it for that purpose at which point Kessig Wolf Run becomes too much of a liability. If you want to run a bunch of Cinder Glades or whatever then knock yourself out but my default addition probably doesn't make sense in this archetype.

Blighted Woodland is a nonbo with your "Forest matters" cards in the early stages of the game and by the time that you hit 5 mana you have basically nothing to ramp into. I wouldn't fault a soul for jamming 4 and never looking back but ultimately I think that you're trading marginal early game "weakness" for marginal lategame "strength" which is basically a wash as far as I'm concerned. That being said let me be clear when I say that this is a totally reasonable suggestion and I would happily play a variation of this deck that has 4 of them. My primary concern is that my deck wins by turning big dudes sideways and so anything that weakens my curve of turn 3 Dungrove Elder into turn 4 Dauntless Dourbark scares me because that's how I'm planning to kill at least one of the players at the table.
I would never actually tutor for Lignify with Treefolk Harbinger which is why my build doesn't include any. Think about it. Let's say that someone casts a bomb or reanimates something stupid. Even if if you have a Harbinger, so what? All you're doing is stacking your next draw which means that you're effectively trading 3 mana and 2 cards to kill a creature a full turn after it's already been played. Yeah, sorry, that's not happening. Even if that creature is Consecrated Sphinx or Griselbrand it's already far too late if you're killing it a full circuit later which is why you'll always see me run Beast Within over any alternative. It's only reliable + instant speed answer-all in Green and when people are reanimating Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur on turn 3 it's the only card that going to come online fast enough to matter. There's simply no world in which I'm happy to trade 3 mana and 2 cards to kill a creature at Sorcery speed a full turn after it's already been played which is why I strongly believe that Lignify is trap. Believe me when I say that I understand that I can sometimes cheap it into play with LCE but let's not kid ourselves into thinking that it's average use-case is anything other than abysmal.
Steely Resolve is tricky because of Descendants' Path and Leaf-Crowned Elder. Every "miss" that you add to the deck significantly decreases the efficacy of your primary value engines and so unless those misses are significantly bolstering your overall win % then you have to be careful about when and where you field them. Rather, my deck features a critical mass of resilient and/or card advantage based threats which work in conjunction with D.Path to give the deck game against removal. Would I fault you or anyone else for jamming 1-2 in this badboy? No, absolutely not. Still, be aware that when your deck has 4x LCE and 4x D.Path that every non-treefolk creature is a major liability and so your misses better be worth their weight in gold.
Dense Foliage doesn't make much sense in the deck Prid posted because the deck doesn't have any abilities that want to be used on your own creatures. Steely Resolve is a similar effect, but one-sided so your opponent's removal still works on your other opponents' creatures, stops both spells and abilities, and is one mana cheaper. I'm definitely in support of going all-in on Descendant's Path and Leaf-Crowned Elder because the tribe just isn't that powerful to begin with. He's pretty much hit all the high points in the tribe in his list; the only thing I would change is adding 1x Sapling of Colfenor and Nemata, Grove Guardian, not because they're optimal or anything but purely for fun purposes.

Nah I actually think that you're right about Sapling of Colfenor. Card is solid. The problem is merely that it doesn't show up when you type "Green treefolk" into a search engine >.<!

So I figured your inclusion of Beast Within was for the instant speed to handle things like you mentioned. If one is in a meta where those types of threats are not played, do you see my list from page 1 as viable adding Lignify instead of Beast Within? My meta doesn't play Griselbrand-level creatures, but indestructibles are common and not handled by Beast Within. So for me, Lignify makes more sense because it keeps the LCE and Scrying Sheets engine humming along fine while Woodfall Primus handles the rest of the destruction work. Just wondering what you thought. I might actually rebuild a treefolk tribal.

I always encourage people to tune their decks with their own in mind. If yours is chock full of Darksteel Colossuses and relatively devoid of Griselbrands then it definitely makes sense to field Lignify. I still really like what Beast Within brings to the deck since the ability to destroy any permanent at instant speed is great but I also recognize that Lignify pairs much better with Leaf-Crowned Elder given that it can "cheat" your removal into play for free while effectively drawing you an extra card.
Also for anyone that wants to play treefolk in a removal heavy meta steely resolve is AMAZING not only are you protected but it forces your opponents to use removal on your other opponents so while your not building your board as much as some of your other opponents it usually doesn't matter since nobody can really mess with your plan (if you don't overextend into a wrath) and they're using all their removal on each other slowing each other down.
