I was looking through some archives to see if anybody had put together a fun multiplayer deck built around Zur The Enchanter? I have only been able to find modern and commander lists for the most part. This deck seems like it could be a lot of fun, as there are a ton of enchantments that are great in the format. Does anybody have any experience playing with or against a deck like this? I would assume that enchantments would include
I appreciate the input that has been provided. I think I am going to do something a little unique with this build and give it a shot. Let me know what you think.
The idea is to be able to mill everybody and then use animate dead and necromancy to grab other peoples stuff and use it against them. It's different, probably not the best way to build a Zur deck, but it seems like it would be fun.
Before I just start rambling on my card selection...Do you have any suggestions for the style deck I mentioned? I could always build the standard enchantment deck, but somebody that I play with that plays one minus Zur...Just trying to find an original idea, and to be honest, I'm not always concerned with winning, as long as I'm having a good time. (Winning is just a bonus). That being said, I don't want to just wait for my turn to be killed lol.

I mean if I were going to build a deck with a ton of mill and revival I would start my deck with 4x Artificer's Intuition and focus hard on amassing Altar of the Broods both early and often. I just don't see the point in trying to mash Propaganda prison together with "self-mill matters" because neither strategy helps the other in any capacity which will result in a ton of completely nonfunctional draws. What happens in every instance where you draw 2-3 of your ~7 revival spells only to pair them with your prison nonsense? Literally none of your spells matter in those kinds of games. If you don't want to build a prison deck because it's unoriginal, that's fine, I would just take the deck in a completely different direction. You can still built an Altar of the Brood deck too but make it its own beast. I would be totally down to start a deck with things like 4x Altar of the Brood, 4x Ghoulcaller's Bell, 4x Pyxis of Pandemonium, 4x Mesmeric Orb, 4x Artificer's Intuition and then defensive crap to keep me alive and/or powerful revival such as Animate Dead. Still, make that a deck in-of-itself rather than an afterthought to a Zur build. After all, the mill plan is just legitimately good when you're all-in on it and sitting behind something silly such as Ensnaring Bridge.
For the Zur enchantment deck maybe consider building a 4 color Bogles deck. Then you have a compelling reason to tutor out things like Steel of the Godhead and Vanishing assuming that you pair them with things like Ethereal Armor, Daybreak Coronet, on and on and on.
I've given this deck a try a few times now and I seem to just get killed before I have a solid fort up. The only difference between my list and the ones posted above are not using Pendrell Mists as I don't have them. I am using Animate Dead as a way to have some value out of milling everybody. I am also playing 2x Shapeshifter's Marrow and 1x Mind's Dilation. Other than the obvious suggestion of buying the Mist's, are there any other suggestions that can help me?
Yeah that seems to be the case, last time I played it an opponent had 8 mana on turn 1 with multiple Sol Ring and then a Mycosynth Lattice to which I then got Hurkyl's Recall to my board. I suppose there isn't much I can do about that bs.

No kidding...that's kinda the problem, we have one guy that plays that bs. Although, last night we kinda took a stand and said no more of that stuff. It's not legal anywhere besides his house. So...

I'm going to give it a go, but was looking for ideas prior to buying some of the cards I need. Thanks for the feedback.

Zur can't fetch Altars, how are you consistently finding enough to actually mill the table out?
What are you popping Deed at? 2? Card seems awful.

You could certainly try a build with things like Propaganda, Ghostly Prison, Pendrell Mists, Armageddon, Sphere of Safety, etc. that wins entirely off of mill.

4x Preordain
4x Ponder
4x Altar of the Brood
4x Ghoulcaller's Bell
4x Pyxis of Pandemonium

4x Ghostly Prison
4x Propaganda
4x Pendrell Mists
4x Armageddon

I mean I don't propose those kinds of decks in order to compete with 4x Sol Ring lists. I too would be Flashing in Protean Hulk off of Gemstone Caverns + Simian Spirit Guide and winning on the upkeep of the first player's turn with Force of Will backup before anyone has even drawn a card.
