MTG Salvation

My last deck that I created with help from this forum is working so great, that I'm interested to see if my other niche idea can work as a deck.
I have always been interested in dredge decks, but have never managed to make one so I'm pretty new to the mechanic and cards.
Now that we have cast from exile cards like Eternal Scourge and Misthollow Griffin, I'm interested if these two mechanics can be combined into one strong engine.
Decks idea is to fill graveyard, exile my specific creatures from the graveyard to cast something, cast exiled creatures and trigger free recursion.

Cards that I already have and would like to use :

Demigod of Revenge might be too color intense for tri-color deck and Prized Amalgam might be usable only if I use Demigod of Revenge or Skaab Ruinator with Vengevine

Cards that I would like to use for cast from exile mechanic :


Cards that I think might work but I'm not so sure :

Ideal situation at six mana UUCCCC would be :

In graveyard :
- Skaab Ruinator
- 3x Eternal Scourge / Misthollow Griffin / other random creatures to exile
- Vengevine / Prized Amalgam

1. UUCCast Skaab Ruinator from gy exiling 3x Eternal Scourge / Misthollow Griffins / other random creatures
2. Skaab Ruinator triggers Prized Amalgam and brings it back to play
3. CCCCast just exiled Eternal Scourge from exile, 2nd creature casts triggers Vengevine and brings it back to play

No cards needed in hand.

By casting multiple creatures from Exile. That obviously requires 7-8 mana though.

Yes, I would heavily fill my gy. Then cast something cheap that exiles selected creatures Dread Return / Skaab Ruinator.
After that casting creatures from exile would give me needed triggers.
If I had to exile non castable creatures, maybe I could return them to deck with Riftsweeper and search later with Birthing Pod

7-8 mana situation is ofc more realistic, but our games usually take long to finish so I just have to just stay alive for 7-8 mana.
Maybe I should run some lowcmc wipes and stall Pernicious Deed / Wash Out / Moment's Peace?

And how exactly do you plan on making room for these kinds of cards?

You're missing Torrent Elemental from the three-cards-wide list of things you can cast from exile. And it's probably the best of the three.

What can I say? First post before coffee down here.
But srsly, Torrent Elemental's ETB effect should not be slept on. It's pretty good, and can lead to a few surprise blowouts if you have enough hardware on the table.

True, but it's also "put into play" rather than "cast" and so it doesn't interact with Vengevine.

Thanks for reminding me of Manipulate Fate. That card is probably the best 2 cast for card advantage.
I think that Demigod of Revenge will get the axe, as 4 color manabase will murder my budget.
This is what I came up after reading your suggestions and other dredge / selfmill decklists.



Lands :
Nephalia Drownyard will ensure selfmill lategame
Cephalid Coliseum can be used situationally to self mill and it comboes with Life from the Loam
Tolaria West can fetch Cephalid Coliseum or Nephalia Drownyard and can be returned back to hand with Life from the Loam

Creatures :
Scavenging Ooze ensures that I can exile my own creatures from graveyard if needed and hoses opponents gy
Misthollow Griffin I probably need more than 4 exile targets if I run Manipulate Fate or Skaab Ruinator
Vengevine & Prized Amalgam are main cards to reanimate with 2x cast from exile. First brings second to play.


Enchantment :
Pernicious Deed stalls the board as nobody wants to empty their hand while it remains in play. Also gets rid on nasty enchantments and artifacts

Instants :
Fact or Fiction fills graveyard and hand at the same time. Usually cards are piled in 2x lands & good card and 2x average cards. Life from the Loam really helps with this.
Murderous Cut ensures that I can exile my own creatures from graveyard and kinda comboes with Fact or Fiction as it digs 5 deep and cheapens it at the same time
Sultai Charm Gets rid on nasty enchantments and artifacts, creatures and lets me select what I want to discard

Golgari Grave-Troll will get in after I play test what to cut out first.

Torrent Elemental is interesting card but as Prid3 said, doesn't interact too well with rest of the deck.
But if I run enough of Misthollow Griffin and Torrent Elemental I can start to use cards like Snapback and Misdirection
