So Metallurgic Summonings. I really love this card. But I'm not sure what deck to build around it. I'm thinking maybe silly abuses of the fact of Delve and Convoke and Twobryid mana (which I don't know how to type on this forum). Great Blue spells like Fact or Fiction seem great. Also Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time seem great too. Should I go Esper Tokens with Intangible Virtue and Lingering Souls and Spectral Procession. Maybe U/R with the myriad of burn spells and control that way? Even a G/U fog deck seems plausible as every fog advances the board state (with summonings of course). What are your thoughts?
I'm going to chuck it into a spell-based UR deck first and see how it goes. I only just got mine in the post, so I haven't had much time with it yet.
I run a few Treasure Cruise & Dip through Time in there, as well as typical spell-based mana deck like Seething Song, Mana Geyser etc.
The mana spells will work well once you achieve the 6 artifacts and activate it - should be able to drop some really large turns.
Thing is, I don't think you necessarily need to use an artefact based deck to get use from this card, so I'll be trying out all sorts, like a generic blue goodstuffs approach with a compliment of manarocks.
Ink-Treader Nephilim could be hilarious in the right build, but it's too much of a conditional build for me.
The list I've been working on is supposed to "abuse" the high CMC of cards like Dig and Treasure cruise whilst making a butt-ton of dudes via tokens. And my group sticks with the Vintage Ban list so I've got one Cruise and Dig. I really am diggin the B/U control list above though as well. Admittedly it's probably a better plan than this deck but I like the "fair" strategies (not control) cause my group really hates getting board wiped a bunch.

Buy a Sol Ring and rotate it across 100% of your decks. It's strictly better than a basic land.
Your deck has a ton of of Flashback and Delve spells. Windfall is a must.
You should probably shave some of your spells for 1x Ponder and some number of Preordains to smooth your draws, fuel Delve, hit your land land drops, etc. You can even shave a land or two given that cantrips virtually increase your land count.
Because Metallurgic Summonings works with the *free* cards that replace themselves, I think I'll be concentrating on this, with a heap of card draw. Ponder, Brainstorm, Impulse, Frantic Search, Manamorphose, Time Spiral.
These cards would fuel the graveyard for delve fairly well, but red cards do this better of course.
And there's alternate casting costs to consider also. Delve is already mentioned, but others, like Gush, Rewind, Snap etc. and the Miracle cards like Reforge the Soul, Temporal Mastery, Terminus could be useful too.
Obviously I'm not running all of these, just to give you an idea of where I'm going with it

Yeah, I didn't even think of J.A. Ouch, that makes it even more fun with Delve!
Gush I'm not sure about in a non-mono-blue build - it's probably fine I guess, but otherwise that looks pretty good

What does it matter as long as the deck has a critical mass of Islands? I have significantly more Islands or virtual islands than the average Gush Vintage deck.
I didn't realize how expensive Battle Screech had become! Any cheap replacements for it? Midnight haunting seems "ok" maybe even some newer cards like Spectral Summons (or whatever it's called)

High tide is pretty great if you are trying to combo out. If you are planning to run it, merchant scroll could take up one of the other cantrip slots. The alt win (in mono-blue) could be Talrand, Sky summoner, Docent of Perfection, etc. Otherwise an enabler such as turnabout may be run in some of these slots.
Keep in mind that high tide, windfall, and frantic search together may end in an oppressive deck depending on the power level of the playgroup.
I don't really get the Windfalls. Besides a 4-of not actually being legal in any official format, Windfall is good if you dump your hand faster than your opponents, but this is a deck where half the cards draw cards.
Because it's trivial to curve turn 3 Windfall, turn 4 Jeskai Ascendancy + Unearth Fatesticher for an on-the-spot win. All you need to do is hit either Gitaxian Probe or Gush in a reasonable time-frame (i.e. they're not your bottom 8 cards) and you'll eventually be able to "go infinite" (more-or-less).
So... the turn 3 Windfall is just to reload your hand looking for combo pieces to cast next turn? And I suppose you then cross your fingers and hope that you didn't just hand an opponent their missing combo piece? Sounds like fun. /sarcasm
You do realize that Wheels are fantastic at breaking up opposing combos don't you? You know, the part where they go cantrip, cantrip/draw spell, draw spell looking to build that ideal hand of combo kill + counter backup that you completely neutralize in the blink of an eye? The probability of having someone naturally Wheel into a combo isn't nearly as high as you make it sound to be. Before you retort with "the same can be said about you" my reply is "no, not really." If you already have the kill in hand then you don't Wheel. It's as simple as that. If you don't then sitting around isn't going to do you any good and your 4x Fatestitcher 4x Treasure Cruise deck benefits immensely from having its hand continually recycled. You'll eventually find an Ascendancy which should almost always be good enough to win on the spot and so there's plenty of compelling arguments to support your build with a suite of Draw7s.
OK, I'm confused now. Are random wheels good or not?
How is that relevant in this context? We're not discussing "random" Wheels. We're analyzing a dedicated 1-card combo deck that fields numerous Delve card draw spells and Unearth creatures. The Wheel is anything but random.
Check out strictly better mtg on YouTube. They have a standard thermo-thing around thermo alchemist and thing in the ice. I think this just might add what the deck wants to become somewhat competitive in the format. I'd only play a 2 of in the deck and take out a couple similarly costed spells.
So here is where I'm at with a Legacy version so far. Certainly not sold on the 4x High Tide... the first is awesome, but it's not NEEDED, but getting more seems miserable. I've tried taking some number out for Predicts, but I've never actually been happy to cast it because of the looting nature of this deck. I mean it's OK... but it's basically a 2 cmc cantrip. I suppose I could go back to Gitaxian Probe for some number of High Tides. Guess I'll have to try that.

The deck basically needs Gitaxian Probes in order to recur additional Fatestichers so that it can eventually generate mana as opposed to merely breaking even. You should be running the full 4 no questions asked.
The deck has no Delve cards so why Mental Note over Preordain? Ascendancy can pitch your Fatestichers just fine so there's no need to mill them.

I mean Temporal Trespass is still an insane MP Magic card and that's especially true when it's producing an 11/11 the turn that you cast it.

Add a Vault of the Archangel to the manabase. You could also consider adding a Nephalia Drownyard to you fuel your Delve, Flashback and mass recursion effects.

At this stage, I'm struggling to decide whether the *Other* could be Guttersnipe (for an alt-win), Thing in the Ice, or some other enabler like Goblin Electromancer or Jace's Sanctum.
*Cantrip* will be Brainstorm, Gitaxian Probe or some other.
If I end up going mono-blue & drop Manamorphose, it would become High Tide.
