With the new cards out for SOI i was interested in putting together a human tribal deck built around token generation and the new Odric, Lunarch Marshal. I wanted to do a GW deck with this combo in mind. Just something fairly simple and casual for fun. I only managed to pull one Odric out of the boosters i cracked will most likely complete to play set status later on in the week. Here is what i have for a idea atm.
Basically my token generators are to get as many humans out as i can for a weenie rush, and hold onto Second Harvest until i field Odric and then rush when one of my humans has Haunted Cloak because they'd all have haste. Pretty much just using my humans for abilities to deal with various threats.
fair enough i dont even know why i didnt think of it haha. i run loxo's in my cat equipment deck completely slipped my mind on that one. I guess was was focusing to hard on token generation
I want to help you improve this deck but first I'd like to run a few things by you.
First, are you opposed to make this deck monowhite? I ask because your only relevant Green card is Second Harvest but since it's unlikely to generate more than 5 tokens to begin with it doesn't seem better than Increasing Devotion. Being an instant is fine and all but the problem with your Green cards is that most of them are GG and your deck only has 9 sources of Green mana which is a huge problem. There's a manabase guide in my sig that you can consult if you want but the TL;DR answer is that you need 18 sources to consistently cast those kinds of spells on-curve. What this is means that cards like Bassara Tower Archer are virtually uncastable in practice and since it's a crappy 5 drop (which is what it realistically is in your deck) I don't see any value in keeping the deck Green. Again, my argument isn't that Second Harvest is a terrible card, it's that your deck is ill-equipped to support your GG spells and that there's plenty of powerful White alternatives to begin with. I value consistency above everything else since I always want to be able to play Magic which is why it pains me to see a deck with so many GG spells and only 9 sources to support them. That's begging for trouble.
Now, why go White? Well, first of all you get to run Relic Seeker at 2 CMC which is an amazing card that will fetch your Warhammers or whatever. Moreover, you get to cut the weak support Auras for cards like Dictate of Heliod and Obelisk of Urd that are more resilient against removal and that have higher power-ceilings. After all, why Equestrian Skill to give a single critter +3/+3 when the Obelisk will forever and always given your entire team +2/+2 without fear of getting blown-out by a Doom Blade? Obviously Honor of the Pure would work fine too but the key here is that your current support spells are very weak given that you want persistent forms of mass pump to support your tokens. You can also support your threats with powerful removal such as Grasp of Fate and even field defense/disruption/lifegain such as Soul Warden, Grand Abolisher, Serene Master and Syndic of Tithes that scale well against multiple adversaries.
I guess in a way i was going for a more novelty approach in mind when i chose Green and White Second Harvest just called to me haha, I love making token based decks and tribes in general. I didn't get many Odric's like i wanted to i was originally going to build around his ablitity and Sigarda, Heron's Grace. But i dont really see a issue going mono white. Thats more or less why i had cards like Bassara Tower Archer working off of odric give all hexproof and reach after i decided to drop Sigarda. But like you said the consistency and chances on getting odric or even the lands was pretty bad haha i wanna say i started at 9 forests and cut for evolving wilds.

That somewhat begs the question as to what you're hoping to achieve with this list. Are you going to purchase cards for it or is this more of a "what I open and/or can trade for" deal? If so that severely limits our options to the point where it's probably no longer worthwhile to try and overhaul the list. After all, I'm not about to to throw darts until I haphazardly guess upon cards that you happen to own since that's a waste of both of our time. Nothing has changed, it still makes very little sense to build around a single Odric and you're not going to consistently cast your spells but at the same time if you're not going to invest in improvements there's only so far that I'll willing to go to try and improve the list.
everything on the list i own physically, and i will be picking up more odric's i wanna play around with him more. but i do own play sets of what you mentioned already and im always willing to pick things up i dont own enough of or none at all to bolster my collection. I will pick up what i dont have naturally through trade or purchase and i would still like to keep it humans and token based if possible.
