I mean B.Storm + Fetchlands are great in basically every Blue deck and the shell that I posted had more than enough extra slots to supports them.
The issue for me is that this sort of statement frequently comes across as this: 'Don't play Brainstorm unless you are playing a combo deck and have shuffle effects.'
In a cascade deck (or miracle), you don't need shuffle effects to make Brainstorm awesome. The point should come across as 'Brainstorm is awesome for fixing your draw or putting cards back on the top of your library that you want to cast from there instead of your hand; fetch lands give added benefit and you should use them also as budget allows'.
I play Legacy Miracles competitively, and I can tell you that the times when I cast Brainstormafter fetching are incredibly few and far between. For one, it's a pretty huge tell that I am setting up a miracle... for two, Brainstorm without a fetch land ready (or some shuffle effect...) is a pretty horrific feeling more often than not. So many times it feels like my opponent Time Walking me twice in a row, and I really cannot get behind people playing it, particularly as a 4-of, to simply use it to put cards from hand on top of library. It isn't good at fixing draws without shuffle effects. It's just not. That would be Preordain.

To be fair the OP's deck has Survival of the Fittest which is basically infinite shuffle effects. Bluntly put I don't build many Survival decks for very obvious reasons and 99% of my experience with it is in EDH. That's basically the only reason why I didn't auto-include B.Storm but in hindsight it should probably be a 4-of in every Survival deck. The problem is that no one here (myself included) actually gets to play with Survival as a 4-of in any "real" setting so finding the optimal builds is difficult. In reality it's probably my bad and that he's right about B.Storm being God-tier in the archetype.

But, that's with shuffle effects... which is the point. Brainstorm is not good without shuffle effects, and I don't think anyone can convince me otherwise.

I have a full page rant about why B.Storm is the most overrated and overplayed casual card in the game and that 95% of the players who cast it have no idea what they're even doing with it. Believe me when I say that I'm with you on this one.

Obviously not as obvious as you think. Why not? I thought you were in a hyper-competitive meta.
Why would Survival be remotely playable in a hyper-competitive Vintage+ meta? What sort of degenerate combos does it enable? Attacking Vengevines is worthless and Loyal Retainers recursion is a strictly worse version of Oath of Druids. Furthermore competitive doesn't mean "no banned/restricted list" and very rarely do we play full-on Vintage. It's not exactly the most interactive format.
Strionic Resonator, just sayin'.
Though unclear if it copies the cascade once or twice.
I'd say once. But reading the reminder text on the Wanderer I'd say maybe twice.
Plus it copies all the other ETB effects.

In magic there's Harry Dresden, Fizban, Sethra Lavode, Dorotea Senjak and me...
My meta: 3 or 4 player free for all, anything goes but boring games or broken decks cause a vote to end that game.
I've never even heard of the Rings or Resonators. Going to have to take a look at them.
I like the extra ideas of abusing Cascades.
Now that I've played quite a bit, I'm realizing that my build is really just a Survival of the Fittest ramp deck with Maelstrom Wanderer occupying a slot. The nice thing is a can usually fire of MW on turn 5 with a SotF in opening draw.
Buddy, win-more decks that use infinite combos to enable infinite combos to enable infinite combos are looking at you with "really?" faces right now. At some point you have to let your 8 drop that casts 2 free spells do their thing and win the game ;).

I'll remind you that reminder text doesn't have any functional value. It's literally just there to explain things that Wizards wants to clarify.
You would only get to Cascade one extra time.

Eh the Resonator is the bad one in that it taps. Not like Rings of Brighthearth which goes infinite if you accidentally sneeze near it.

(Adding untap effects would make it clunky, alas.)

Prid - I'm starting to see the limits of my Lotus Vale. I dropped my copy for a basic land. I also dropped Thran Dynamo for a 2nd copy of Chromatic Lantern. I do still run 2 copies of Temple of the False God. I still get good value out of them.
