Has anybody done anything fun/degenerate with Mirror of Fate? This card basically reads T: Exile your Library the first time and T: Draw whatever card(s) you want next from that point on.
Pros:
It's cheap. Reallllly cheap.
It doesn't care how the cards are exiled, so long as they're exiled face-up.
It gives you access to literally any card in your library if you activate it at the right time, and costs 0 to activate.
Cons:
First, the big one: It Massively shortens your clock.
It costs 5 just to get it into play, and it needs at least two plays to do anything meaningful (unless you build around exile, which, hey, sure).
Likely OP only in very narrow combo contexts.
The obvious combo is Laboratory Maniac, but has anybody done anything else fun with this?
I made a deck with Mirror of Fate once. It was almost good.
It was essentially a turbo-fog deck. I would use relic of progenetis to exile fogs and I would play time warp + twincast to take infinite turns when I was able to draw 2 cards a turn with howling mine or mini-Jace.
Step 1: Use relic of progenetis to remove some fogs, counterspells, etc and hopefully a time warp from the game.
Step 2: Use Mirror of Fate and put fogs and time warps on top
Step 3: Put time warp + twincast on top with another Mirror of Fate
Step 4: ???
Step 5: Profit.
So I'd be thinking Misthollow Griffin and Torrent Elemental probably want a gig?
You could leave them in the exiled pile and then blink them back in, essentially giving you a 15-card hand when the Mirror goes off.
Maybe Thought Lash if you wanted to go more defensive while still exiling your cards. And/or choose not to pay the cumulative upkeep and exile everything.
Hello there, I know this thread is somewhat dead, but I was searching the Forum for Mirror of fate, because I have a modern combo deck with mirror of fate. I don't know if I am right here but I will post it anyway. I have 2 different color combos to play the decks and I will post my 2 lists here when I am at home

There are a couple of others like that too. Foresight. Denying Wind (at 9 CMC you might as well just use a second Mirror of Fate). Selective Memory.
Could be a way to preserve/fetch a finisher in a self-mill/delve setup though, I suppose. Hmm.
