My current mono-Red Devotion deck. Again, the strategy speaks for itself but I'm liking some of the newer cards such as Dragon Whisperer, Outpost Siege and the ever back-breaking Sudden Demise and Mob Rule. I like Ashcloud Phoenix over Flametongue Kavu in general but I wouldn't fault anyone for running the latter at 4 CMC. They're both very solid after all. I used to play Scourge of the Throne at 6 CMC but it kept dying immediately so I figured it wasn't worthwhile to continue to field it.
Same reason why I never play with Sensei's Divining Top; I refuse to play with cards that hemorrhage time. The fact that he's banned in Legacy also works against him but the main reason is that I cannot stand playing with/against gigantic time sinks in MP. People just want to play the game and have fun; not watch someone stack their deck. Still, by no means am I trying to argue against the card's power-level. A "perfect" Goblin deck would certainly play 4 alongside some Food Chains to win the game as early as turn 2 (using Chrome Mox or whatever). I'm just trying to keep power-level and time management into consideration.
I've never cast that card naming Dragons. I'm more than happy with my "Phyrexian Arena" variant. I suspect that one day I'll try it if only to make the play that you described but as it stands I've yet to name anything other than Khans with the Siege.
I'd run Kher Keep over that Shivan Gorge in the token deck. Cheaper to activate, blocks, and easily deals more damage.
Good call, I made the swap. Seems like a perfect fit for the deck because it's only bad in scenarios where I'm not going to win the game anyways and it's not as though paying "4 mana" to ping people for 1 is going to dig me out of any holes.
