So the decks I use have ran their course and I'm looking to update some of them..
First on the drawing board is my old UG 'funsies' deck. There is a new card coming out that looks too fun not to use..
I also saw a preview of a combo with this card on Facebook earlier today, and figured I'd take it to the extreme for my playgroup..
It's nearly identical to my previous UG deck, which used Sylvan Primordial.
Focus of the deck is to slap a Mirror on the Hornet Queen and cause a ruckus..but having Thrag, Wurm, and Titan will give me more than enough targets for Mirror if the Queen gets Doom Bladed...also, the group got pissed at me using Sylvan, so thought I'd shake some things up
Temur Sabertooth over Overrun maybe? I don't like Overrun in general and your deck doesn't have many early, meaty blockers. If you were running Deranged Hermit at the 5 CMC slot then I could probably get behind the card but as it stands I'm not impressed by it. I also think that 4 Witnesses is actually terrible in decks without Fetchlands. Borderland Ranger is "fine" but if she can't even be that on turn 3 then you should probably roll with some Yavimaya Elders or something. It's not like this is a full-on Crystal Shard/Cloudstone Curio deck with Prophet of Kruphix and Mystic Snake or anything after all. She literally doesn't do anything but recur a 5+ CMC bomb and that's going to take a long time.
Do you actually prefer Mirror Mockery to a generic Clone? I feel like having to Enchant your own dudes at Sorcery speed and then attack with them is asking for trouble. I personally think that the card is nearly unplayable and would much rather roll with Phantasmal Image, Phyrexian Metamorph, Rite of Replication, Clever Impersonator, Sakashima the Impostor, anything. Are you kind of just hoping that no one will kill (they can block it too remember) your dude? I know a small number of people who like this card but it seems very sketchy to me. I'll admit that I'm curious as to how it plays out in practice but I'd rather stick to more reliable cards myself.
Eternal Witness is not a regular 3-drop. It gets better as the game goes on. You don't have to feel bad for not casting it on turn 3.
That's not my point though. My point is that if you can't cast Eternal Witness on turn 3 then she's only a 6+ drop. At that point why not simply play Prime Speaker Zegana or whatever? I.e. if her only role is as a late drop why not just play more, better late drops? I do like Eternal Witness in Genesis Wave decks in general, that interaction is sweet, but I don't see the point in running with 4 Witnesses if they have next-to-no-value until turn 6+. If you can reliably cast her as a Borderland Ranger, knock yourself out, play 4. Otherwise she just kind of sits around in your hand and does nothing.
If you like Mirror Mockery, I'd consider a small number of SPitting Image instead, or just straight Clone type creatures, as already suggested.
Add to that, I'd think of some lifegain to make sure you last to the lategame.
In my group, Mono-G and UG decks usually get targeted before they start dropping their fatties to stabilise.
Since you have some Titans, I'd look at Primeval Bounty, Grazing Gladehart, Courser of Kruphix or Lifegift.
Having a few lands for Primeval Titan to grab is good too > think Rogue's Passage etc.

Instead of Overrun, I'm entertaining Overwhelming Stampede. With a Titan or other fatties out, it can get quite potent.
I see your point with Witness as a 3 drop. I like the idea of switching her out for the Elder.
It's not that I 'prefer' it per se, but there are pro/cons to damn near everything in this game. A 2 mana enchant that can net me a copy of a creature with nifty ETB abilities, just for attacking, which is something I was going to do regardless, is pretty sweet..
Sure, sometimes it will get stopped in it's tracks, but no more so than someone forcing me to sac a clone of another badass creature, or catch a Doom Blade, or exile,etc...
Granted, it would only get 1 copy of the creature, but I still think the risk/reward would be favorable.
Would you block a Titan, or do you block a 2/2 flying creature? Which would you target first? In my experience, people are less likely to handle the 'annoying' things, and focus more on the 'big,' 'in your face,' things.
In the end, I figured I'd give it a go, as it seemed to be an interesting way to go about cloning your dudes with ETB effects...for cheap.
If it fails horribly, I'll just swap out the Mirror for either the Images or Metamorphs, and call it a day.

I agree with this..as before, I was just using Witness in my last UG deck as a 3 drop, and kept it in. It was only really used to fetch me back the Wave or something of the sort, or a fatty, if needed. I think digging for lands via Elder would more than offset the loss of recursion for this deck.

I don't understand what you're asking when you explain your rationale for Mirror Mockery. The copy is exiled at end of combat, how does casting this on an "annoying thing" help? Are you suggesting that you'll run this out on a small creature (Oracles, Elves, whatever), attack with said creature, and not have it be blocked on a consistent basis? I'm legitimately asking because I'm just wondering what it is that other people see in this card.

Primary targets are the queen, titan, and thrag.
Attacking with a queen will generate flying, deathtouching tokens en masse.
Attacking with the titan will just get redonkulous.
Targeting Thrag will generate life and more beats.
In the case of attacking with any combination of the above, which would you rather 'deal' with via removal, first?
When I say 'annoying' I was implying the Queen. An annoying 2/2 flier that pops out tokens vs. a Wurmcoil or Titan coming at you...more often than not, the flier will get through and the attention will be on the titan or wurm. This allows a plethora of tokens to be generated without causing much of a scene.
In larger games, the 'annoying' queen will typically get overlooked when you say "playing Primeval Titan" or "Wurmcoil Engine."
This won't be a deck I reach for every game night..it's meant to be played once in a great while. It's not always about winning
I was also looking for something 'entertaining' to replace the Primordial..since people started to frown upon him being replicated.
Other people are probably excited about it since there are tons of cards in this game with, in some cases, broken ETB effects. And it's only 2 mana, so I'm sure that helps as well.

I think it's a "BCSM" card. Best Case Scenario Mentality. People see it and think of all the cool things they could be doing for the low, low price of 2 mana, and conveniently ignore the hoops they have to jump through and bullets they have to dodge to get there.
But these cost 5-7 mana. At that point you might as well go for Followed Footsteps or Progenitor Mimic. Those create more lasting value.
I don't think I'm ignoring anything. I'm very aware of the fact you must attack to see the card activate..but attacking is something I will be doing anyways, so why not experiment?
However, I understand what you mean - it's easy to find cards that interact with hundreds of other cards, and not thinking about what all else has to happen.
All that said, it can also serve as a line of defense - enchanting an opponents creature that is getting froggy..he/she will have one less player to target, since it would hit it's own copy. All the better if it had ETB triggers.
I'm not trying to make it sound like I think this enchantment is perfect..I just think it would be interesting to use and has some versatility. I'm detuning my current UG deck, since its not 'fair' in MP games..so I'm taking a step back with UG and doing something different, that's all. I'm kind of set on using the card, so even if the rest of the deck needs to change around it, I'm okay with that.
My OP was just a first draft, using a majority of my 'old' UG deck and throwing in some new cards, trying to scale back the power of the deck a bit.
I do have a Mimic or two laying around..forgot about those.

Yeah I didn't mean for it to sound insulting or anything. I've personally misread a LOT of cards and know plenty of other people who have as well. When you play as much Cube/EDH as we do people are introduced to a lot of new cards and it's very easy to get the odd one wrong. For me it's more of a "I don't think that this card is good, why does this person like it? Maybe there's some sort of misunderstanding?" Again, you won't find a single player alive who hasn't had a RTFC (read the effing card) moment so that's not a sleight against you or anything. I've had way more than my fair share.
Anyways, if you want to experiment with the card, by all means. As long as you understand why we're hesitant to field the thing ourselves that's all that matters to me. Playing a deck that's a 6/10 as opposed to always playing a 9/10 or a 10/10 is more than reasonable. There's plenty of legitimate reasons to do so.
Let us know how they perform. I like that the card is a cheap spell that "does something" but I'm too conservative to pull the trigger on playing those kinds of cards myself. I'd like for them to be good but deep down I don't think that they possibly can be. Not because they're horrendous, unplayable trash or anything, mostly because if you're just copying a 5-7 drop anyways then you can just play things like Clever Impersonator or Progenitor Mimic. Followed Footsteps is cool but it usually draws a lot of hate. So does the Mimic obviously, that thing clearly needs to die, but if you're copying a Thragtusk+ then removal doesn't bother me. It's also worth nothing that Propenitor Mimic is much easier to protect with things like Crystal Shard and Cloudstone Curio which is another reason why I prefer it. The fact that all of my Simic decks are Prophet of Kruphix decks is really showing because I just couldn't imagine playing a list like yours with 0 copies of Crystal Shard, Cloudstone Curio, Temur Sabertooth, Deadeye Navigator, etc. They literally work with 100% of your critters and make spot removal a complete joke. I can understand not wanting to go full-on Mystic Snake/Opposition/Tradewind Rider "you don't get to play Magic," that archetype isn't fun to play against, but I mean a couple of Crystal Shards isn't oppressive I don't think.
For what its worth, I think Mirror Mockery is only worth a look as a singleton in a Sun Titan deck. Even then, I don't know if makes the cut, but it would be sweet on one of your early value creatures (usually people play plenty with the titan after all) and then it is a possible "re-buy" for the titan later, once the critter dies, so you can get two titan activations a turn. Still, when do you get it out of the 'yard? When you cast the titan? If your opponents kill it, you get nothing. Your first attack? It won't activate until the next turn. Still, I might consider it as I have a U/W Titan deck. With your deck, I don't think it is unreasonable to put on the cards you mentioned. Obviously you will get two-for-oned sometimes, depending upon how much targeted removal there is. Still, putting it on Thrag gives you five life and a 3/3 if it gets to attacked. That is some value for two mana. I would consider only running a couple though, as it won't always be the best line of play, theoretically, and, at least in my meta, it wouldn't be a good defensive play. If I were in your playgroup and we had the mirror match I would be pretty happy to place it on one of your dudes. We might be underrating it. I hope you come back and say a 4 of is spectacular! Also, if you had sac effects that would make it much better and make Wormcoil Engine a solid choice as well.

Completely understand.
And yeah, I've had plenty of 'read the card' moments..probably more than I'm happy to admit.
I am really wanting to card to perform well, but there is part of me that must concede to the idea it won't do what I want it to do. Which is fine..it's happened plenty of times. I've built random decks and tore them apart the same day.
And it may be after all is said and done I use it as a 1-2 of and supplement the deck with other copy/clone effects that have a bit more staying power.
Removal is there to some degree, but not near what it could be (or should, to be honest).
I think the biggest factor I will have to get over is the play group seeing "UG" and have instant thoughts of Sylvan. In which case, it won't matter what the deck is, I'll get targeted by the table and dealt with accordingly.

An excellent suggestion. I have recently experimented with WU and WB versions of that deck, eventually settling on WUB. I prefer Phantasmal Image and even Dance of Many, but if Mirror Mockery must find a home, this would be a good one. It would be decent on a Baleful Strix. You still end up with a 3-for-2 if it gets blocked right away. Wouldn't be the absolute worst on Trinket Mage or Kitchen Finks either (though the same cannot be said for Phantasmal Image or Vendilion Clique).

Mirror Mockery
Took a few minutes to come up with a 'new' deck list.
4 Tropical Island
4 Hinterland Harbor
4 Breeding Pool
6 Forest
5 Island
4 Coiling Oracle
4 Eternal Witness
4 Wood Elves
3 Thragtusk
3 Primeval Titan
2 Wurmcoil Engine
3 Hornet Queen
2 Rite of Replication
2 Genesis Wave
2 Overrun
Enchantments
3 Rhystic Study
4 Mirror Mockery
It's nearly identical to my previous UG deck, which used Sylvan Primordial.

I can understand not wanting to go full-on Mystic Snake/Opposition/Tradewind Rider "you don't get to play Magic," that archetype isn't fun to play against, but I mean a couple of Crystal Shards isn't oppressive I don't think.

Buried Aliveing for Phantasmal Images/Flickerwisps only to Sun Titan them all back is the greatest feeling in the world :).

The deck did not play out has I had envisioned..
I reverted it back to the way it was before and will revisit this one later.
