So i have a Master Transmuter deck that is trying to be a less-oppressive tinker deck. The shell works great, i cheat out fatties all day long and can search for silver bullets on demand. Sweet.
However, in addition to the "attack with Steel Wind" or "search for the right answer" plans i can execute, I'd also like an artifact singleton that can snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
I'm thinking Mindslaver since i already have Sharuum and Academy Ruins. I imagine it would turn a 4-man FFA into a 2v1v1, wherein i control the player in the lead in the rare case where that's not me.
I feel like we can easily morph this into a RG Monsters shell. We just need to cut the creatures and spells and play more things like Courser of Kruphix and Lurking Predators.
Beyond that I would strongly consider Darksteel Forge as your spicy singleton. The card is pretty good. Mindslaver is certainly powerful too, don't get me wrong, I just find that DSF tends to seal games up more often than not. At that point no one can really interact with you and you're free to Scourglass everything that moves while casting unkillable threats. It doesn't take very long for games to close out. What I like about DSF is that you can just cheat it out on turn 4-5 with Transmuter and basically just win whereas Mindslaver isn't quite that powerful. It needs more setup time in my experience.
Do you like TYE over Lightning Greaves? I really like Greaves in Transmuter decks in general but I can see the appeal of TYE. Keeping her alive is very rewarding but very difficult and Greaves is one of the best cards to do it. I know that TYE is powerful because you always get an activation from her so you always get that first cheat. I'm just wondering if that's, on average, better than what Greaves does for a deck like this.
The main appeal of TYE is the haste, but it also untaps the Master so she can do multiple activations (ie, flicker Summoner to search, then TYE untaps her so she can cheat in whatever you searched for, all at EOT). So in that regard it's half haste, half Voltaic Key.
When you use the phrase "snatch victory from the jaws of defeat" it sounds like one of your opponents are about to win and you're looking for a way to prevent that. First artifact that jumped to mind for a scenario like that is Platinum Angel. Although without something like Lightning Greaves or Darksteel Forge to protect it as Cz suggested, that'd become a huge target.
Maybe you need an alternate win con that dealing damage. Has the game dragged on a while and the control player has a GY full of cards? Why not mill them with Keening Stone? Anyone gaining a stupid amount of life? Try Blightsteel Colossus.
I came in here to say exactly the same thing. Memnarch is the droid you're looking for. If you're getting hosed in the late-game, Memnarch will take the most oppresive thing on the table for seven mana. And then do it again next turn. If it's not dealt with (and if you've got a Transmuter and open mana, it won't be), it's extremely hard to stop.
I must add that I've seen Memnarch work in tandem with Darksteel Forge before, and it is most definitely not pretty to be on the other side of.
If you want something hilariously fun but not super-strong, Crumbling Sanctuary changes the rules of the game by setting everyone's effective life into the low 40s.
Soul of New Phyrexia is also solid lategame but doesn't say 'answer me right NOW or game over' the way Blightsteel does.
Just a thought;
When I play against decks like this, the only reason they're gonna lose without taking someone else with them, is if the table collectively guns for them (if you play Tinker, this WILL happen the next time you play the deck), considering that most of your early game pieces don't really want to block the incoming beats.
You look pretty defenceless early. Should you have a handful of aggro decks against you, you're in trouble with life pretty quick...
Similarly, a sweeper can skewer your Transmuters/Sculptors, making dropping your bombs problematic.
Have you considered something to deter attacks that you can drop by T3?
P.S. I'd think about card draw too > those 1000-elixir's kinda want you to have lotsa cards in hand.

Here's the list
1x Duplicant
4x Etherium Sculptor
1x Filigree Angel
1x Magister Sphinx
4x Master Transmuter
1x Sharuum the Hegemon
2x Sphinx of the Steel Wind
4x Sphinx Summoner
1x Academy Ruins
4x Arcane Sanctum
4x Evolving Wilds
9x Island
3x Plains
3x Swamp
4x Azorius Signet
4x Dimir Signet
3x Scourglass
3x Thousand-Year Elixir
Sorcery (4)
3x Fabricate
1x Tinker
Thanks for any ideas. Remember, not looking for a new shell. Just a strong tinker target that can turn around a losing game.

My meta: 3 or 4 player free for all, anything goes but boring games or broken decks cause a vote to end that game.
