This deck started with the desire to make a unique mono-blue big creatures deck. Then, I wanted to use Whelming Wave to it's full potential, because I am crazy like that. This deck is what happened. It actually has a ridiculously high win percentage right now. Any thoughts?
I would always play 2-4x Trinket Mage in this style of deck to find more Cloudposts. Whelming Waveing them back is actually quite beneficial for what it's worth. For similar reasons I wouldn't mind seeing some Solemn Simulacrums in here as well. I dunno, your deck seems impressively greedy. From what I can tell if people just played 2 power beaters on turn 2 and turned them sideways at you you'd probably be drawing dead the vast majority of the time.
At some point Quest for Ula's Temple is worth running. I'm not quite sure if you're there but you're probably close.
Part of me thinks that you could run Azure Mage or something over Omenspeaker. I dunno, the card has never really impressed me. Maybe those could be your Trinket Mages.

Forgive me if I'm just not catching something obvious here, but how exactly would you use Trinket Mage to grab Cloudposts? They aren't artifacts/artifact lands so the Mage can't search them out...?
Glimmerposts are actually the reason that 2 power beaters on turn don't kill this deck... and there are actually a couple people who we play with often who LOVE the aggressive aggro strategy, so 2 power beaters on turn 2 are no strangers to me. Callous Oppressor helps a ton from turn three on.
What I like about Omenspeaker is part her 3 toughness on turn 2 (which helps a lot), her Scry 2 ability (I know a lot of people hate Scry... I have found it insanely useful), and her interaction with Whelming Wave. Trinket Mage does seem legit though... I will mull that one over.
The Inkwells will probably come down. That was just the initial draft, for play testing. With Academy Ruins, 4 IS overkill.
There is SO MUCH bounce in this deck, I am afraid if I put 2 more Scourge of Fleets in this deck, people would throw things at me. But I agree with you.
Thespian's Stage was considered, but I have honestly yet to feel that they were needed from a ramp point of view... the lifegain is just too good, for now at least.

People don't Hate Scry, there's no downside to it, it's just not the strongest ability or anything. I like Azure Mage + Forbid for a bit of a "lock" in the later stages of the game.
On Quest for Ula's Temple...
... I've done this before, and you're not far off it at all here.
I suspect you'd need to ditch your scry / card draw critters for Kraken Hatchling, and then find room for Crystal Ball or something similar. And from there, you get the idea. When it works, it is very, very good (and incredibly fun, too... people don't seem to mind getting GGed by Krakens flopped out by Ula's Temple).

Uhhh.... if anything he should be playing more Sigiled Starfishes, not removing them. Why would you remove cheap creatures who manipulate the top of your library in a Quest deck? Do you think that he needs to cheat a Kraken Hatchling into play to save the 1 mana?
Maybe you don't realize that it triggers off of any creature being revealed or something?

Was kinda wondering the same thing myself. I like Omenspeaker better than Sigiled Starfish in this case because it does it's thing as it goes down, so removal means nothing anymore, whereas, with the starfish, he can't scry until next turn, which he may or may not get. Granted, if someone is actually willing to trade a card for the starfish... haha. But yeah... totally agree... not sure why I would essentially split omenspeaker/starfish into two cards...

I think he just doesn't realize that Quest triggers off of any creature.
With respect to Starfish, well, I would be jaw-dropping shocked if anyone used a removal spell on it. I mean, come on lol >.<

I had a turn two starfish bolted before he could see an upkeep. Granted that was a move out of pure frustration as the game before the starfish got me pretty far ahead.
Sigiled Starfish > Omenspeaker. I've been using the starfish for a couple of weeks in my blue control decks and I'm pretty pumped with the effort he brings to the table.
I personally liked adding Quicksilver Amulet to my deck. 8 instances of cheating in fatties has rarely let me down. Quest decks are very linear in nature so once someone sees Quest go off they will make it there mission to remove it. In MP games, tables will be packing enough removal that only 4 cheat into play cards is often not enough.
I can't tell you how many times I get three counters only to have someone destroy or exile the damn thing before I can cheat in my fatty.
I plan to test the starfish out myself. Currently I use Augury Owl because he flies and scry's

Yes and yes. It's been so long I'd forgotten the Quest triggered off anything.
But I was referring to the one-shot scry boys like Omenspeaker not being worth it. This deck wants to scry the hell out of every turn and not look back. It needs repeatable scry, not one-shot scry.
So yes, abso-freaking-lutely, play the heck out of that Starfish. That wasn't around when I built my Ula's Temple deck, and it would have been a four-of if it had.
I like Deep-Sea Kraken in the deck, it's something to do with 3 mana while waiting. Drawback is that people tend to obsess over it for some reason - it gets far more attention than the threat it actually poses.
Scourge of Fleets feels like a 4-of to me, but I just play with Islands, so it may not be as useful in 8-Post.
Kederekt Leviathan seems useful - I haven't tried that one - thanks for posting that!
I don't like Deep-Sea Kraken in anything but an Upheaval deck, really at all. For 3CMC I would MUCH rather play Callous Oppressor, and it's really not close. He is exactly the kind of defensive card this deck needs to get through the early game.
I am also unsure as to why you would cut the draw, or the Expedition Maps, seeing as you are using an 8-post package.
I don't feel like Kederekt Leviathan works well here. Between the Whelming Waves and the Scourge of Fleets, you have all the bounce you need... and it is all one-sided. Kederekt will bounce all of your own fatties (save himself) - and he doesn't even have haste unless you cast him from your graveyard... and then he is one-turn-and-done that can deal a mere 5 damage to ONE opponent. I would much rather bounce all opponents creatures, and swing in with my still existing army to finish (hopefully) all or several opponents off right then.
Grozoth Seems like he's kinda just taking up a slot here man. He doesn't really do anything since there are only 4 other cards in your deck with cmc 9.

Pretty sure the goal is to use Ula's Temple to cheat 4 Inkwells out. I really don't think that he needs much more than that to win a game of Magic.

Oh... Okay I get you now. If you're wanting to abuse Quest for Ula's Temple , Paradox Haze would be a good card to do so with. You could also use Reality Strobe to go along with your strategy of bouncing your opponents cards back to their hand.
It would also work well with Deep-Sea Kraken.
I still don't understand how this card is remotely playable (given the alternatives) outside Upheaval decks. It's not even as though you can pull the "budget" card over and against things like Callous Oppressor. The Oppressor is a quarter of the cost, after all.

Cz got it right. Grozoth substitutes for some card draw and adds a bit more consistency to the deck. Win cons from my perspective are Inkwell and Stormtide. The best way to get all of them out as quickly as possible is what seems best to me.
For added countermeasures and style points add one or two Homarid Spawning Beds. Just because it's oldschool and can even make for an alternative win with a swarm.

I would cut Glimmerposts for Thespian's Stages if it's an option.
