I've waited for a while for all of the gods to be released to make this deck. I've also sat on playsets of Maelstrom Nexus and Worldslayer for too long too. It's time to make that five color God deck..
Here's what I have so far, it's mostly just a good stuffs and theme deck:
As you can tell, sort of janky, but it's the theme that counts! Help me make this build a bit more reliable, I'm considering Academy Rector except for her lacking devotion. The goal is to get that devotion, swing with Worldslayer and keep your gods while everyone else struggles until you win. I'm considering taking out Karametra since she's exceptionally bad here. Maybe Captain Sisay/Sigarda, Host of Herons is a better fit o.O
Yeah, I was considering taking out Progenitus but had him in there for flavor (he's a god, right?!) AND he pretty much guarantees devotion get, but on that same note I purposefully excluded Karona, False God because she's just as bad as Karametra in this build.
I may up the Child of Alara count, tbh I need to get the last few gods and then I can start play testing against my meta. I think short of putting in more mana fixing (such as Prismatic Omen), the deck has enough wipes and could use more early game.
I like Dragon Arch but it doesn't help me unless I have the devotion on the board already (to make the card a creature), which is why I excluded Cavern of Souls. Maybe Hypergenesis is worth a shot here? I can't see a better way to abuse it in a MP deck lol, especially if I have a Worldslayer in hand when it goes off. It even plays well with Maelstrom Archangel for a fun surprise
I'm inquiring about it, because if they're creatures in hand, then Cavern of Souls is going in along with Thran Quarry. Hell, if they're creatures in hand, then that changes everything. But the way I've read devotion, I'd wager they're considered enchantments until the devotion is there on the board (obviously they contribute to their own devotion too). But yeah, I'm not a judge, so I don't know for sure :<
I'm no real rules lawyer but I'm 90% sure that the arch works on gods because they count as creatures in your hand.
That is correct.
It's not until they hit the battlefield that the devotion requirement comes online and checks if it's an actual creature or not. In your hand, library, and gy though - it's both.

Edits: dropped Karametra, God of Harvests for Captain Sisay and dropped Progenitus for Hypergenesis (for the time being).
My meta: 3 or 4 player free for all, anything goes but boring games or broken decks cause a vote to end that game.

For this reason, I don't recommend running Ephara or Purphoros.
Here are some suggestions form an EDH version of this I'm considering. Ignore the 1x, I copy/pasted.
