Yeah, temples FTW! Maybe Gruul Turf, too. Pick up temples, make more land drops, etcetera.
I feel that adding a bounce land means I should go the route of the deck listed in the R/G thread that uses Baloths, Prime Time, and more copies of Sylvan Primordial and I specifically want to avoid that particular build.
sylvan library and cream of the crop are all stars, lets me weed out the mana dorks and stack the fat on top after a predators hits, and helps me find one if i dont have one yet.
Ok, I finally got a chance to field this and it was a lot of fun. I ran into a few challenges and I wanted to get some feedback form all of you before I take any particular direction. Here is the list I played:
The Elixir proved to be useless because I had no way to play it and just ended up shuffling my deck because Storm was out. Also, the MAuler turned out to be a big dumb thing that wasn't helpful at all. I also decided to remove Bane of Progress. This leaves four empty slots. I'm tempted to increase Xenagos to four, but I'm not sure that will be helpful and I don't know what to put in the other two slots. Here are some other cards I'm considering.
ZOMG!!! You're taking Elixir out?? How many times have we tried to get you to do stuff like that?
Also... Storm doesn't make you shuffle your library... PSA.
He's saying that casting Elixir with Storm in play forces you to shuffle your library after whiffing on targets since his deck only has a single Artifact. That's why he's removing it.
Also I don't see why you would want to splash white just for the Sunscorch Regents? If it's about the lifegain, green also has options for that. And Forgotten Ancient does equally well on the +1/+1 counters. I would get rid of white and simplify your manabase.

Yes and yes. I did get a good hearty laugh reading your comments. I do avoid using it these days, but in a few decks I still run it (namely Esper to recover key cards for Cascade).

Yes, both colors offer life gain, but I'm not aware of another card that grows with opponent's cast spells and gives me life. Getting one into play allowed me to live through the rest of the table dying and secured 2nd place.
If you wanted to keep the Elixer in the for lolz, you could have a draw option like Sandstone Oracle or Kozilek, the Great Distortion. Pay 1 draw 7 cards sounds pretty sweet to me.
If you use Forgotten Ancient you can pair it with a life gaining card like Spike Feeder to help get you through the early game. If you don't want to splash white you could also try using Filigree Familiar. It's a great value card for 3.
I was thinking of making a similar deck with guild feud. Moldgraf monstrosity is a great card in that build as is eternal witness, sad robot, acidic slime, thragtusk, ect. What I think you need to do is cut most of your mana dorks. Use spells and enchants to ramp so you have better success with predators and storm.
Yeah I tend to agree, although I've never tried it with Possibility Storm.
In my LP deck, from memory I run about 4 Sakura-Tribe Elder, 2 Yavimaya Elder & 4 Skyshroud Claim to ramp. The rest of the deck are 5cmc and up to swamp the field with fatties. I found LP needs a critical mass of large swinging meat, or it just doesn't do enough before LP is removed (which usually happens before you get to untap).
Is protecting LP the reason why you're wanting to run Possibility Storm?
Ok, I'm tweaking this a bit to remove the cards that didn't help me win. I'm incorporating a way to get more land out of the library. Should I stick with Sylvan Ranger or switch to Yavimaya Elder for maximum ROI? Or both? I also added more Gods to maximize that effect. Should I also add Purphoros?
I don't really understand the White splash. Iroas is meh and the Regent isn't worth jumping through a ton of hoops to gather double White. Why not replace it with a card like Ulvenwald Hydra or Realm Seekers or whatever?
The point is to get either Possibility Storm or Lurking Predators (ideally both) and then coast. Point taken on the bounce lands, but I think that is a waste without some Landfall triggers in there somewhere.
This deck works great, I just want to make it work better. The Treespeakers, Managorger, and Bellower were just clogging the works. I'm planning to buy some Craterhoof's after tehy bottom, so that will probably replace the Ibex. The Hydra and the Seekers do more of what I'm taking out.
I need early game starters and late game gambles for something better.
Ok, points taken. I had the Regent because it has flying and life gain, both of which are critical in the meta. I traded those for Silklash and Courser. Do you think it's worth adding a GSZ or Chord? I'm concerned about this being too much of a glass cannon. I also adjusted the Gods.
Whoa Nelly, I dunno about that 4x Xenagos. I'll always play the first because that card is gas but it's a 5 drop that's completely worthless in multiples, terrible when behind, extremely resilient and that doesn't add to the board. That's typically not a card that I want 4 of in my lists lol. Nylea is another card that well enough as a singleton but not something that I'd run in multiples just about ever.
I'd blindly jam 4x Green Sun's Zenith into any Green deck and that's still true even if you have 4x Lurking Predators. It's far too powerful to omit. Just make sure that you have a solid hit at every CMC slot, preferably something that ramps if at all possible.
Chord I wouldn't bother with. It's only relevant in decks with large numbers of cheap critters.
Not really. In a deck full of creatures it means you can sit back, do nothing and you'll still win eventually because every time that you jam a threat you deal 2N unblockable damage to rest of the table and that's a perfectly fine place to be. If he wants to run some token producers that's perfectly fine, cards like Avenger of Zendikar are completely bonkers, but he certainly doesn't have to warp his deck to make Purph amazing.
Thijs1301 I do appreciate your feedback. I already have a deck that is more or less built around Purphoros and Prossh. I felt like with Lurking Predator and an average of four opponents, it seemed like enough free damage to the table to include.

I would maybe consider Mwonvuli Beast Tracker. It can find some of your utility creatures and stack your deck for Lurking Predators/Possibility Storm.
Also I don't see why you would want to splash white just for the Sunscorch Regents? If it's about the lifegain, green also has options for that. And Forgotten Ancient does equally well on the +1/+1 counters. I would get rid of white and simplify your manabase.

I do like the Beast Tracker as an option, thanks!

If you take out the Maulers you could add Siege-Gang Commander. It provides some nice ping and good value with Pathbreaker Ibex.
Duskwatch Recruiter and Tireless Tracker are good 1-ofs to help fill your hand if Possibility Storm is out and you need to draw some cards.
Yeah I tend to agree, although I've never tried it with Possibility Storm.

BTW- this deck works fantastic.

Burgeoning is rather anemic in builds that are land light and devoid of both Bouncelands and card draw. It's also a nonbo with Possibility Storm, Ruric Thar and Lurking Predators which I'm not a fan of.
Possibility Storm isn't a card that makes sense to run as a 3-4 of in my mind. 2 is realistically the perfect number.
OOC why Sylvan Ranger over Sakura-Tribe Elder? I can't make any sense of that one.

Aren't you insanely unhappy to curve a turn 5 Storm into a turn 6 Lurking Predators only to Storm into a second Storm or a Burgeoning?
I was telling you to remove Burgeoning, not add Bouncelands.
Devoted Druid, Sakura-Tribe Elder, Farhaven Elf, Courser of Kruphix, Tireless Tracker, Oracle of Mul Daya, etc. are all great. I also think that Joraga Treespeaker is fine as 1-2 of because the card is undeniably stellar on turn 1.

However if you do want to run him you might want to add a few token generators.
My meta: 3 or 4 player free for all, anything goes but boring games or broken decks cause a vote to end that game.
