I'm thinking about another Shadowborn Apostle deck. It involves using Sphinx of the Chimes and Search The City I know it seems hokey, but I really think it'd be fun for a plane chase multi player type match. Just wondering if anybody had any suggestions on which Demons to use. First thoughts are Abhorent Overlord , Demon of Death's Gate or possibly Griselbrand. Please help me out with some suggestions, I think Shadowborn Apostle is a good kitchen table type deck. It'd be great to win with this deck I'm just not sure how to build it. If its combo it should prob have some control elements in it
Well, obviously with something like Thrumming Stone the card gets silly as you dump half your library on the board for 5 + B.
The demons I search for are usually: Griselbrand, Rune-Scarred Demon, or Harvester of Souls. Griselbees or Harvester both draw you a ton of cards. Rune-Scarred can find you a specific combo piece you need to win or a piece of protection. Protection could be Twilight's Call. Combo win after Thrumming Stone (casts each copy) would be Tendrils of Agony. Or you get Phyrexian Altar, sacrifice guys for mana and draw cards, use the mana to Twilight's Call them back, sacrifice them for mana again, then Exsanguinate everybody.
In a black-white shell, Enduring Renewal seems good too. You easily go infinite off Enduring Renewal+Phyrexian Altar.
I play this combo in EDH though, where it's easier to run a ton of Shadowborns and still make room for singleton combo pieces.
