I've had format ideas, but they're hard to dream up, but the gist of my idea is Lich magic. Players dont lose at having 0 or less life, but the player that deals the "critical" life loss (putting them at 0 or below) gains control of that player and may choose his or her actions towards the other players. Winner is the last one "alive" (uncontrolled or dead because their owner was killed by another player)
Hope Ravarshi doesn't mind me re-posting his idea, but I thought it was really cool.

Lich Magic sounds really fun. Might need some sort of board wipe reset to keep one player from snowballing the table. Perhaps a new Lich does a Lich's Mirror effect?
Also, does the lich player get to still play? I could see a crap rare ante providing incentive to keep players invested in the game. Perhaps players ante a few cards when they are killed, then there's a draft at the end with the winner picking first.
I could see players suffering a loss having a Lich's Mirror effect instead, then joining the team of the player that defeated them. It wouldn't be too broken, as it would restart the "dead" player at zero, but give a big advantage to the player who defeated him by adding an ally.
