Hi all. I have been working on a "melee" variant for Magic based on the multiplayer melee from the Game of Thrones card game. The two games have a lot of similarities so it was pretty easy porting the rules over. Where I need help is the balancing of the "title" cards.
General summary is that every round, each player drafts a title card from a fixed set of 6 title cards. Each title supports a title (cannot attack them) and rivals titles (gain a bonus for attacking them). Additionally, each title has an ability that can be triggered once during the round.
The goal is to make these abilities interesting enough while not upsetting the way magic usually plays too much. My group will be playing this with a cube built from commons/uncommons from recent sets. Thanks ahead of time for the help.
