The one thing that Gaea's Liege has going for it over similar but cheaper creatures basing power/toughness of of (your) lands is the ability to screw an opponent's mana and neutralizing his utility lands. So that should be the focus of using the card. If you include a repeatable means to untap the Liege, like Umbral Mantle or Sword of the Paruns, you can quickly destroy an opponent's land base and keep him from playing most of his cards unless he's playing mostly green, too. Get twice as much use out of the ability per tap by attaching Illusionist's Bracers to the Liege.
Carry over the power/toughness of a Liege from its nonattacking state to an attacking one by adding those stats via Nantuko Mentor. Add the stats to all your creatures by casting Overwhelming Stampede before combat.
I put Seeker of Skybreaker in there because with two of them and illusionist's Bracers I can infinitely untap Gaea's Liege. I'd also like to get rid of some card to thin the deck up a bit, not sure what to get rid of though. I put Sheltering Word in the deck as a precaution but I might dump it in the end.
I'm thinking reducing the number of Gaea's Lieges in the deck and keeping one for playful purposes and making the deck a bit more streamlined. I was thinking something like this:
I focussed on Gaea's Liege in my first post because you said it was to be the center piece. But with it practially being removed from the deck, what do you want the deck's focus to be now? Creatures growing in size with the number of forests you control? Or more generally effects that are based on the number of forsts/lands you control? What's your goal now?
I was thinking creatures growing in size with the number of forests I control. Can't use Dungrove Elder/dauntless dourbark though since they're nearly 5$ cards.
If you wanted to continue to use the Gaea's Liege as the centerpiece of the deck and were looking for some ways to affect your opponent's land to aid in attacking or whatnot, look at Deepwood Elder. I did notice a couple of enchantments that would turn lands or other permanents into forests, but they are probably not as helpful.

Any suggestions? Gaea's Liege is a must and I'd like to keep Gaea's anthem but I can live without it.

Since most of those are just dumb beaters, you need to make sure they can connect, so flying, trample, unblockable, or some other evasion is required.
