Hey everyone; I'm back with another deck I've been working on. My favorite colors are Black and Green, and so I've had my fair share of Golgari decks in the past. However; my friends and I have recently began playing Frontier, and in doing so began using a lot of "Modern Bordered" Cards. With our large collective, we began building decks that were only modern bordered, like Frontier, but we were allowed to include cards from other sets like Eternal Masters and the Commander Decks.
So I am brewing a decklist and have a list of a bunch of cards that could end up being in the deck. The goal of the deck is to have lots of resilient creatures with ETB/death triggers that dwindle away my opponent's cards, all while giving me card advantage. I have a few different ideas for how to build the deck.
Option 1 - Mostly Creatures (This allows for maximum graveyard recursion and gives me a lot of blockers)
Option 2 - Typical Rock Deck (Less creatures, but more instant/sorcery removal and tech for digging through the deck)
Like I said, the deck is on a budget, so I can't spring for anything like Grim Flayer or anything of that nature. I guess I don't really know what my best directions are to take with this deck, which is why I would like to start a discussion on what directions I should go with it.
Is there anyone who's a BG fan who could give me a suggestion? I feel like I'm too attached to all the BG strategies out there to plan one from every modern boarded card out there!
I thought this too. But if you read his OP and not the thread title, it's clear he doesn't actually want a Dredge-type deck. He wants a BG grindy creature-based recursion deck that uses the graveyard as a resource.
However I do agree that 2 Skullclamp is always incorrect. The correct numbers are 0 (banned), 1 (restricted/highlander) or 4 (not B/R and relevant to the deck).

Also, I get that budget is a concern, but it seems wrong to play Lotleth Troll alongside Bloodsoaked Champion instead of Gravecrawler.
