The manland will eventually come for a 3rd Temple of Malice I have not been impressed by it in all honesty. Now then deck strategy. First and foremost for context this deck was/is designed as basicly BadJund. But also cause I want to play this little doggy.
I love this card because essentially its mechanically beautiful in a really interesting way. The simplest being I cannot play traditional graveyard value shannigans like reanimation. Because I cannot target my own graveyard.
Third it's puesdo unblockable requiring three creatures. But also in that sense unless they block with tokens the cards they use to kill him they'll get right back. So I have to attack in well intelligently.
Then I have to deal with symentry of Cerberus Effect. This I do with in one sense neging myself. Cerberus dies we get our cards back. If they flood the field I play Malfegor. In addition, Brain Maggots. I likely either traded them off or milled a couple. When good old Cerberus dies, I get them and they a couple fresh targets back to my opponent's hand.
Then of course I have Lotleth Troll. Who I can discard my hand to pump him as he swings in. So I have a couple Satyr late game? Well I can then pin them. Next of course are my puesdo removals.
Smoldering and Viper. If they are a midrange deck, I can flash in Vipers in response to attackers to well block. And Smoldering can come and pick off X/1. While he will likely die soon after. Either eating a Bolt, or something else, I'll just get him right back.
The last set of cards, are Tasigur and little Tymaret. Tasigur effect can be applied even while Underworld Cerberus Ability. And even if I get back a useless card like Duress. I can still use it for something like Malfegor, in the late game.
Tymaret primary purpose, is to be milled or played as a block turn 1-3, then EOT on foe turn sac Cerberus. So they do not get a chance to use the cards or even have to discard some. Then I grab Maggots to removal troublesome creatures and other cards from their hand.
Finally, on the topic of Maggots, they are reason I run Extenquish. If I used Dammation, say bye bye to Maggots and that means any card they stole goes back to their hand. Extenquish lets me break board stalls and keep my maggots, unbestowed Howlers, and Coursers.
Unfortunately every try hard from Sacramento to Shanghai preaches from the top of their 27 lands + Mana Reflection that Tooth and Nail and Time Stretch are fine to play in the same turn but Armageddon is unfair.
