Edit: but red mass destruction will always be a very poor matchup for elves... You'll probably have to adjust your gameplan, and get lucky to win such a game.
Im curious to see your deck list you should post it. I second Quilt's advice there are many elf lords that pump such as Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen her second ability helps with life gain for each attacking elf as well.Joraga Warcaller gives elves +/+ of whatever you pay into him also if you have other ways to give him counters his ablilty gives them out as if you kicked.Imperious Perfect pumps and gives elves.Elvish Archdruid and Elvish Champion are also good pumpers.
Elvish archdruid gives other elves +1/+1, gladecover scout is good against burn spells. A 1/1 hexproof for a single G. Rhys the exiled is solid with gain a life for each attacking elf you control. thornweald archer is a 2/1 reach/ death touch for 1G, then some spells like fog would help some. Elvish vanguard is a solid option and my newfound love in elves is tajuru preserver.

Which cards can protect a mono green elf deck agaist agroo red? Especially one with Cave-in and Repercussion?
There are the elvish 'kings' that pump your elves, helping them to get past two damage from cave-in/Pyroclasm.
There are comeback elves like Caller of the Claw and Prowess of the Fair.

These are the decks that I have constructed, and are ready to play:
01. Ankh Sligh to be exact.
If you really want to "sideboard" (in the maindeck ;)) against that deck, there's also Wrap in Vigor.. among other things.
Reclamation Sage could be useful for the other part of that problem you've been having: it's a Disenchant on a stick, and happens to be an Elf!
