So, you can probably guess what's going on here: we ping/extort people to an appropriate life total, then hit 'em with either Hidetsugu's Second Rite or Triskaidekaphobia. I was inspired by the Against the Odds article on Second Rite (here), but was confused why Triskai... -- let's call it Trisky -- wasn't in there. (Probably MTGO issues or him doing Trisky in Standard two weeks later, but still.) So I made this. Later, I figured that, as long as we have black, extort would be great both to heal us a little while pinging, and to help stop suicide by Trisky.
Currently an untested brew, but aim to try it soon. Budget without fetches, which can be replaced by more painlands or maybe Khans/ZEN gainlands. Would love feedback or ideas. Thanks!

I don't want to necro a thread but I was thinking of making a deck very similar to this. Is this trying to stay Modern legal or is it purely casual?
Oh, purely casual. I actually haven't played real magic in quite a while since I posted this; my main remaining ties to MTG are hanging around the Perfect Hand Magic forum here and the occasional EDH game. I don't really have the fetches to make this work well in modern.
I did a wee mite of Googling, since I thought I had read an article released after my decklist that did what I had but better. Instead, I found a post on this very forum that seems to profess to be a legitimate, tourney-worthy Phobia/Rite deck in modern. If you're interested, the primer's here.
