This idea is based on Don Bluth's 80s arcade classic, Dragon's Lair. You play as Dirk the Daring, a knight who is on a mission to rescue Princess Daphne from Singe the dragon. To succeed at his quest, Dirk must brave the perilous chambers of the Dragon's Lair, fighting dangerous monsters and dodging deadly traps.
The purpose of this topic is to suggest cards and themes to help build custom duel decks with this flavor in mind.
The Dragon Slayers deck is obviously based on Dirk the Daring. This deck certainly wants to be part white, with red or green as the most likely secondary colors. Hidden Dragonslayer inspired the idea, though using him would probably mean including additional Morph cards in order to preserve the strategic value of Morph. The creatures consist mostly of heroic knights, soldiers, and perhaps warriors like Intrepid Hero.
Dragon Slayers also needs at least one magic sword to represent the weapon Dirk uses to slay Singe. Deathrender amuses me as a reference to how Dirk will presumably die a lot during a given session.
The Dragon's Lair deck represents Singe and all the monsters and traps in his lair. This deck mostly wants to be black/red, and obviously include a dragon or two. Slumbering Dragon would be good flavor; the Dragon Slayers' constant attacks on the lair wake him up just as Dirk does to Singe at the end of the game. Avaricious Dragon could make for a good face card; what better analogy to the quarter-munching arcade game?
For other monsters, among the more memorable are Giddy Goons, the Lizard King, some skeletal ghost things, a black knight, a sorcerer, and of course tentacle monsters.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
It would also be interesting to have a separate pile of cards that could function as treasure for the Dragon Slayers deck when it hits certain benchmarks over the course of the game/match.

Dragon Slayers can also make use of spells that represent escaping or surviving traps, like Emerge Unscathed or Narrow Escape, and defeating monsters, like Smite the Monstrous. Valorous Stance is especially nice as it ties the two themes together. White reanimation spells like Resurrection or Miraculous Recovery could be good flavor.

For peril cards, Agonizing Demise, Tragic Slip, Fiery Fall, and Unstable Footing are the kinds of cards that can represent the various dangers and deaths Dirk goes through in the course of the game.

I also think the dragon-related art on Seething Song, Punishing Fire and Reprisal would fit the theme quite well.
This Seething Song and Punishing Fire feature alternate art from Duel Deck: Knights VS Dragons. Link to the product here: http://magic.wizards.com/en/game-info/products/card-set-archive/duel-decks-knights-vs-dragons
Lastly, Dragon Hunter would be a shoo-in for the dragon slayers deck.
