My casual play group can be fairly competitive, but still laid back. This deck is middle of the road, with obvious dedicated hate. Hopefully you guys can help, any suggestions appreciated.
There are plenty of black cards to start the combo for B, such as Bile Urchin, Death Cultist, Ebony Charm, Shadowfeed. Since you're already running a fair amount of card draw it should be easy to get Cabal Rituals humming beyond their base level of fine, more so since mono-color makes it easier to run things like Barren Moor/Polluted Mire.
I also like how the 1 drop critters can be dropped early. Allowing you a 0 mana way to respond if someone Disenchants in response to the first bloodletting effect. But I guess R can do that too.

This is great advice, exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much. I'm switch the build to mono black for some test play. We'll see how it works.

Night's Whisper could be replaced with Spoils of the Vault. That gives twice as many effects to just find one enchantment or the other, while leaving the card draw that doubles as a combo starter.

I'm going to give this a try in a play test run or two, but I'm still leaning towards Night's Whisper because of the potential combo starter.
4 exquisite blood
4 dark ritual
4 brainspoil
4 sign in blood
4 night's whisper
4 lightning bolt
4 lava spike
4 rite of flame
2 banefire (or)
2 infernal contract

Ah, right you are. It doesn't start the combo then. I haven't had a chance to test the deck as is yet, so I'll have to give both cards a good shake.
